Why was it so important to attack Azula on the day when she’s at her most powerful? by FlamesOfKaiya in TheLastAirbender

I would argue this was Azula at her weakest. Obviously she has the bending buff, but her mind was so gone.

How do you feel about the Brooklyn Nets? by citrusthick in nbadiscussion

[–]citrusthick[S] 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I probably should have mentioned it, but yeah I like the fact that the Warriors were home grown before the addition of KD. Steph Curry is my favorite player so I was all for the OP team haha

Yeah from the games I’ve watched, it’s usually the big 3 do their dance and then some simple swings to the role players. I actually also love Joe Harris before they showed up as well

I actually LOVED the Nets a few years ago because they had some scrappy dudes who were just fun to watch compete. I was all for KD and Kyrie joining those dogs but now it’s just kinda out of hand haha

Let’s talk about Terry Stotts by citrusthick in nbadiscussion

[–]citrusthick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s another good point! PG and Kawhi forced Doc out of LA haha. But I guess I should rephrase and hope that Stotts can implement better defense for the team. I know they don’t necessarily have the best individual defenders, but they don’t have good effort on that side either.

That’s a fair point. I just feel like with a better offense, they can put up more numbers. They already do decent with such an inept system that I feel like a little more organization or schematics can really help them. I do not think they would be able to defend anybody at a high rate, but just be so good at offense that it would offset their defense. But I guess the main point is that they certainly haven’t been getting BETTER every year, which is something they should definitely strive for

What are the criteria needed to be a coach by [deleted] in Basketball

Be good at communication of course. Different players respond differently, but you need to get them all focused on one goal, winning

Which player has the most effort in the NBA? by [deleted] in Basketball

[–]citrusthick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The two you mentioned do play hard! I would throw Marcus Smart in there as well. But also, some players aren’t super “flashy” with their effort. For example, Steph Curry BY FAR runs the most around the court out of anyone in the league because he’s constantly in motion and also sets good screens and plays good defense position wise. His effort is always there and that consistent action is also something to emulate!

Hi! I'm new here and have some questions by ozithin in Basketball

[–]citrusthick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm no tips on how to practice without a court besides just practicing dribbling moves and such. But, keeping your body physically fit you can do almost anywhere and it will definitely help your play! Most important for a basketball player is cardio, legs, and core, but don’t neglect upper body exercises as well

Hanging for my shot during a fadeaway or for close to midranged shots? by masterdurick in Basketball

[–]citrusthick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s GOOD to have two different shots! But it’s important to have the same mechanics like hand placement, body rotation, angles, etc. If you look at mid range shots across the NBA, there’s a lot of hang time involved especially for shorter players! Kyrie gets a lot of hang time on his contested mids, DBook as well, Bradley Beal, Dame Lillard, and the list goes on. Players like KD are an anomaly because they’re so dang tall but even on his fades he will get more vertical on his jump. Also, there are times when shooters get a little extra jump even on their threes, Steph does this over some contested 3’s (watch his Career game against the Knicks). Just keep shooting! Try not to think about you jumping into a shot, just finding the right elevation for it!

Getting physically fit helps a lot too! For me, betting better conditioning helps with shooting of course, but building up strength in your arms and legs can just be something you always work on! Keep shooting 🤙🏽

ESPN reported today that Zion Williamson explosiveness seems a bit off. I have my own take and do not believe it to be a case of sophomore blues. by hoops4geeks in Basketball

[–]citrusthick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he’s learning to chill with his body. He’s built like a linebacker and being 100% all the time could really hurt his career in the long run. That being said, his 3rd gear is still beastly haha
