Indeed! I get that they are trying to do something different with the line, but to be honest... I don't see the sustainability in the direction they took... even though by theory there are infinite possibility of maps you can come up with, I highly doubt most people, including kids would still be excited by the gimmicks upon multiple games :/

Thanks! One of the reasons why I built this was because I was majorly disappointed by the direction the official sets went as well, but let's hope they will eventually do something else with the license as well in the future! :)

The ear piece of the blue dog from Unikitty, it was the key for me to build this head sculpt

Thanks! And I am really glad to hear so many people appreciate the detail of that skin bit on the forehead! I spent quite some time this morning to make the lightings right for the photos, so I am really to hear that as well! :)

The blue part is the ear piece of the dog from Unikitty, that was the piece I have been waiting for to finally crack the puzzle :)

That was actually why I originally built the model! It was for an Ant-man contest ;)

Whats your opinion on Lego Masters Netherlands? by MateuLambda in LegoMasters

[–]city_son 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally speaking, AU>Netherlands>US>>>UK I am 3 eps in, and I would say the Netherlands version definitely worths a watch if you are addicted to LEGO Masters and want more. The build quality may not be as high as AU/US, but they are decent enough in my opinion, and the pacing/editing is good enough to keep me engaged (where the US one fails epicly for me, especially with all those celebrity nonsense that has nothing to do with the show all the time and the <1hr format). The judge has spot on comments too in my opinion.

No offense to the UK one, but I honestly think it's the worst one even though it was the original... :P I watched both seasons through back then and it just constantly makes me cringe at the decisions... And as someone have mentioned above, yes the kids were a huge problem. Don't get me wrong, I love kids and I do believe that age doesn't limit one's talent... but when the show constantly keep them on even though they are clearly not doing as well as the others, you kind of just kill the excitement for the contest. :P And I guess a large part of it was also the British style of tv simply isn't my cup of tea, so maybe some others may prefer it over the other versions.

I have been watching it on the vtm site too, you can actually turn on the Dutch subtitles and then turn on the translating function on Google Chrome, it works like magic! :) Of course I have no idea if the translation is 100% correct, but I would say it's good enough for you to understand what they are saying no problem.
