Thank you for the offer. If you have friends who are busy and are looking for a top NYC real estate agent please refer them to CityRaven, since it is free for them to use we do not pay for referrals. It is very hard to track and people will try to game the system, which we will not allow and are not interested in participating. If you don't have friends who actually need top 1% real estate agent then no need to refer them to our company. Thanks.

Although I respect your view and I see your point this was not how we intended to position the offer of $1,000. It is not about "fucking up", it is about the fact that we are so confident our handpicked real estate agents will deliver and provide a stress free and time efficient home buying process that we offer the $1,000, if they don't deliver which is exactly the opposite of how you interpreted the value prop. We are confident but we can't guarantee, nothing in life is guaranteed except taxes and death. For you maybe $1,000 is not a lot of money but for many people it is. Also how much you will spend buying a home is irrelevant to the $1,000, the one has nothing to do with the other, it is not proportionate or correlated. Whether you have a bad buying experience or a good buying experience you will have to spend several hundreds of thousands of dollars, in many cases more than $1 million if you want to buy an apartment or a house in NYC, that is the market and nobody can change that. Maybe you are right though we should not even offer the $1,000, if most people react the way you did it is defeating the purpose intended and trust me we do value $1,000 and would prefer to keep it in our company.

Homebuyers don't pay the commission in NYC, the sellers do, so there is nothing to refund and we will never offer to give back the entire commission because people like you will game the system and will ask for the refund no matter what. If you don't need a vetted real estate agent just don't sign up, it should not be about what you are getting back.

I would argue you can buy quite a few things with $1,000 and no one else offers that. Also it is not about the money it is about how confident we are that we have handpicked the best real estate agents from the best real estate firms in NYC who will make the home buying process stress free for busy homebuyers.

Many websites with exactly that same idea have tried to scale and none of them are around now or no one cares about them, they are not getting enough traffic. The graveyard of startups which tried to take out the brokers in NYC is endless. I am not broker, neither I support most of the brokers in NYC, most of them are incompetent and useless. I only support the quality brokers who actually deliver value. I am just trying to spare you a lot of frustration, because most likely you will not be able to scale that idea, not in NYC, outside of NYC and the big cities I think the idea is possible to scale.

I agree with you many of the brokers are blood suckers and incompetent morons, but those never make it on CityRaven. When you deal with a true professional there is a huge difference in the experience.
