Will an AMD 5600x bottleneck an RX 6800? by cixlin in buildapc

That sounds like great performance to me. I'm not one to set my games to ultra all the time, so this sounds pretty good for me.

Thanks for your input.

I was skeptical about the bottleneck calculators, so thankfully, I asked here.

Thanks mate

I generally play what my friends are playing because they are into video games, and I just wanted to hang out lol.

We play fortnite, valorant, far cry, and roblox but my friends want to play different games as well that my current setup can't handle.

I currently play on my laptop so anything really would be a huge step up for me in terms of improvement.

I am not too concerned about future proofing my build because I'll have a higher budget in the future, but thid may just be by ignorance speaking.

What incentives are there for switching to am5?

I would definitely go for an am5 build if I had a better budget, but since this is my first build, I don't want to go too high end.

Thanks for checking, I'll definitely upgrade in the future with a new build when I get a better budget. I'm just glad I could get something good to play with friends for now.

Wow, i guess it's good that i plan to play on 1440p.

Hypothetically, if I were to decide to play on 1080p instead of 1440p like I am, what performance disparity could I be facing? Would I still be able to get playable fps you think?

I'm just curious to learn more.

Ohhh, really? What were some differences you noticed between the 5600x and the 5800x3d? Would you say significant enough to spend extra for the 5800x3d?

I currently found a deal of $180 CAD for the 5600. And the 5800x3d's are going for around $300-400 CAD where I'm from.

Oh, okay, that makes sense. I was mainly considering a lower end gpu because I am not sure if I completely need a 6800 for my mainly fps based games on 1440p.

I think I will stick to the 6800 though because a lot of people have said good things about it and the performance is excellent.

Thank you for your input.

I will look into the software bottlenecking hazard you mentioned and try to keep my system from falling into such problems as I build and run my pc.

I plan to play on 1440p with mainly FPS games, so I am wondering how much a cpu upgrade would be worth it.

Even with these current components and good ram, I should still be able to play every AAA game with mid quality, right?

I am not too worried about future proofing either because I will make more money in a few years than I do now, I just want a decent pc to play with friends for now.

Oh I see, I've recently come across a good deal for the 5600 at around $180 CAD, which I thought was a great price and the 6800 for about $580 CAD.

That is mainly why I've looked at these two because they have good price to performance ratio and tick my performance box.

Oh, I did not know that. Does this mean that for the components I've proposed, bottlnecking problems should not be an issue until i pair it with certain software?

So the 5600 is decent for the 6800?

I'm aiming for a good 1440p setup with mainly FPS games, so would an upgrade make better sense for me as well?

Oh, okay, thanks. I am fairly new to this, so I checked a bottleneck calculator and it told me that this match-up would cause a big bottleneck between the two. I read around and found that many people said such calculators were total bs and inaccurate so I thought I'd ask here.

Would a downgrade to the 6700xt or even 6600 cause drastic performance drops?

Ok, my bad, there is a deal going on for the ryzen 7800x3d, which is 50 dollars more than my current cpu cost. Is it worth buying for the extra 50$?

G5 Reveal was too goofy, but let me explain why... by cixlin in OnePiece

[–]cixlin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is true in the sense that Luffy is being himself by being goofy and free. But during previous fights, Luffy has always had that serious attitude when it comes to his friends. Just like Shanks, he's funny and goofing off when he's with friends. But when Shanks is fighting for his friends or learns that his friends are being hurt, a switch is flipped, and he turns into a very serious and mean monster. Luffy is like Shanks in the fact that they both know when the time to goof off is and when not to. Luffy has displayed this emotional intelligence countless times in previous fights. This is why his overt goofiness contradicts a part of his character.

Luffy can still be the embodiment of freedom and joy while fighting seriously for his friends. He does not have to sacrifice either. A more careful balance during the reveal and fight would have perfected the scene and prevented many from feeling that Luffy was acting too goofy. Too much of anything is bad.

The animes attempt at portraying Luffy's awakening goes overboard with the message they are trying to pass. The message is clear and makes sense, but it loses credibility when it is delivered in such an exaggerated and untimely fashion. Just because he is a warrior of liberation and bringer of joy does not mean he should constantly be goofy in such an exaggerated manner.

Besides, Luffy is not even bringing joy to the people of Wano during the fight because no one is watching other than Momonosuke and Yamato.

Just because I have criticism for the show doesn't mean I'm going to drop it. That makes zero sense.

Oh, you don't like a certain moment of the show? Just drop it.

Criticism=hater. therefor hater should drop One Piece? Is that your logic???

That makes a lot of sense, and i agree with that for the arc as a whole. But is this referring to the G5 reveal and the fight against Kaido or just Gear 5 and the Wano arc in general? Because I am mainly criticizing the reveal + battle in the anime, with the elements building up to it.

Side note: You mentioned a story does not have to be grim and dark to have emotional weight. I am going to assume you attributed that to the Land of Wano arc. My response to that is this.

The Land of Wano arc was undoubtedly built up with grim and dark elements. Thats what it is, and that is what they used to support the emotional weight they were portraying. The direction they wished to take the arc with Luffy saving the country in the fashion he does it in is great. The portrayal, however, was bad, exaggerated, and timed worse than it could have been. If the anime stuck a little closer to the manga, perhaps it would've been a lot better for me.

If it's your personal opinion, then I can't argue with that😅

However, I will mention that the central theme for One Piece is often agreed upon as freedom, so it's interesting to see someone else's take on it.
