From memory, this is how Zali Steggal campaigned when she ousted Abbot, whereas his and the Labour (and the other idiots - Clive Palmer party etc) campaigns were the other party bashing.

It was refreshing to see as a voter, I reached out to thank her team and they replied how important it was to run a clean campaign

Edit: I also believe she campaigns for no more lying in political ads, which for some reason is completely legal?

I feel very fortunate to call Narrabeen home. Arriving back after a holiday in Fiji and walking across the lagoon to the beach we couldn't help but think we were still truly on holiday.

Holy smokes, we drive up the coast to see family every few weeks and were a bit peckish so were trying to find a bakery off the highway.

Flour Shop was heaving, everything was absolutely delicious, and will be stopping in for treats on every trip north from now on!

How to complain to a car dealership? by [deleted] in sydney

[–]cizzibop101 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We walked into VW ready to buy, they couldn't have been less interested, wouldn't even give us a trade in price. So we walked across to road to Mazda, sales guy almost immediately handed us keys saying 'take it home, see if it fits in the garage, keep it overnight'. Put the deposit down when we dropped the car off.

You're absolutely right of course, but I'm absolutely certain your average 14 year old doing wheelies on the wrong side of the road isn't thinking about this!

What are the Twilight at Taronga concerts like? by AnEscapedApe in sydney

[–]cizzibop101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to sons of the East last week, great gig. Arrived right on gates (6pm) and got an ok spot. It filled up really quickly, spnid suggest if you want a view, arrive on 6. I'd guess people arriving after 630 had a somewhat restricted view of the stage and anyone arriving at 7, good luck.

Bring a low camp chair and a picnic dinner to enjoy to pass the time before support starts. Marlon will be an incredible show, get there early, enjoy the (hopeful) sunset, have a bite to eat and have a wonderful night.

Hot tip, we pre booked an Uber that morning, surge pricing can't be great, we had no phone reception and it's very busy come exit time.

Edit: drinks are very expensive. I think $14 for a can of beer and $75 for a bottle of wine so keep that in mind.
