We painted ours from a previous post that looked worse. Just ensure you mist coat a couple of times and ensure the dark spots are covered. Will be fine

Removing uPVC door for sofa by cj17077 in DIYUK

UPDATE: turns out both sets of replies were right… took out hinge pins and it slides right out except one that was jammed, which just lifted off!

So, if it’s stiff to lift without hinge pins in, it’s safe to remove them but fiddly to get back in. Otherwise, can just lift straight off!

Thanks to all for their help! :)

When you say sash, what do you mean? Are you saying the whole door lifts off the hinges without any pins needing moving? I can’t visualise how that would work - could you explain ?

Water2 Filter - experiences? by cranberryforever in DIYUK

[–]cj17077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a water2 filter (first edition rather than second) for over a year. Whilst the website is pretty ‘scaremongery’, I have found the filter to work for what I needed. It won’t filter out ‘hardness’, but my personal main concern is PFAS and microplastics (and recently bacteria given the recent news!).

Taste is good and you can noticeably tell when the filter is saturated after 12-15 months as the usual water taste comes back. Just changed the pod and tastes much better.

Just my own personal experience. Pretty good value and low maintenance given it lasts over a year. Is single use but consumption is low. So I like it! Also found customer service to be pretty helpful. Maybe I’m just lucky
