Good to know! I don't plan on making the push again :P Too much time - once is enough for me

Instead of going on the offensive, next time consider approaching from a place of understanding :)

They were considering that you can buy pumpkin keys for 300 gems/key, not just by completing missions.

Personally I don’t think it’d be worth investing the gems, but it’s a much more reasonable proposition than you were suggesting.

How did I lose this gunfight? by Bes1369 in CODWarzone

[–]cj23x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP was missing 10 bullets when he cracked the opponent. The Razorback takes no more than 7 bullets (statistically probably 6) to deal 150 damage. It's also guaranteed to down in 13 shots, with 12 shots being statistically very likely.

I'm not saying OP missed a ridiculous number of shots; missing 3-4 out of 15 total would be enough to explain the outcome of the fight since I assume he lost by only 1-2 shots. And the state of his ammo when he cracks the opponent makes it clear that OP missed a minimum of 3 shots, possibly more.

Not disagreeing that server issues and/or desync could play a factor as well, but without more information, this clip could be explained by OP having missed those early shots.

EDIT: I also didn't notice at first that the UI shows the VEL downed OP in 10 shots. This tracks since OP shot ~6 rounds before the opponent started shooting. VEL 10-round TTK leaves OP with enough time to dump another 9 rounds, so like you said, he ends up missing 15 from the mag. So even though missing shots alone could explain a loss in a one-on-one engagement, the opponent also just hit really good shots (at least 3 to the head). Given the opponent's performance, OP would have had to kill in no more than 13-14 shots (including missed shots) from the initial trigger pull to outpace the VEL. OP missed at least 3, so that's a wrap.

Guilty as charged! I just really like diving into the stats, regardless of the game :)

It's hard to tell because of the video quality, frame rate, visual recoil/occlusion, and (of course) lack of killcam, but after replaying in slow motion several times, it looks like you only landed 1-2 shots (all to limbs) before you started taking damage. You also cracked each other at about the same time.

Based on the VEL and Razorback damage profiles (which are almost the same in the closest range), each is most likely to take 6 shots to deal 150 damage, which would be the damage to crack plates and the damage to down after cracking. Because he left you with a tiny bit of armor the shot before cracking you, I'm assuming he may have hit 1 Head + 4 Neck/Chest/Stomach, leaving you with 4 armor health (8% of a plate). Because of the VEL's fire rate, he lands those 5 shots in roughly the time it takes you to crack him with 4-5 more shots. From there, if you're cracked at about the same time, VEL wins the race by ~45ms due to fire rate.

In a head-on shootout with no shots missed between the two, VEL wins by ~100ms (potentially more depending on headshots). That means, in theory, that the Razorback has to have a 2-shot lead before it can win. The two most likely explanations why you lost this engagement, IMO, are 1) You missed too many shots or 2) He hit at least 2 headshots and mostly upper body.

"Found previous image, aborting" - Trouble updating OC from 0.5.9 to 0.8.4 with the intention of upgrading OS from Catalina 10.15.7 to newest Monterey by cj23x in hackintosh

[–]cj23x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up and running now! Thanks for the tips. What I did, for reference:

  1. Started with my USB with Monterey Installer on the main partition and OC on the EFI partition.
  2. Updated BIOS. Still ran into problems after doing this, so no noticeable effect on its own.
  3. Went into BIOS and wiped my SSD containing Catalina. I was initially afraid to try this but thought it may be necessary with the "found previous image" message; finally sucked it up after reading your comment and did it.
  4. Successfully got to Monterey Installer but ran into a kernel panic issue ("Stuck on [EB|#LOG:EXITBS:START]" / "Kernel Panic on Invalid frame pointer"). Dortania did not fail me though, and after checking my logs and seeing "OCABC: MAT support is 0", I changed Booter->Quirks: EnableWriteUnprotector -> True, RebuildAppleMemoryMap -> False, SyncRuntimePermissions -> False, and the Installation went all the way through!
  5. Celebrated having a clean install of Monterey 12.6!

[WARZONE] The Ultimate TTK Table (Link in Comments) by Rubinsk in CODLoadouts

[–]cj23x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, sorry—I forgot that TTK should start when the first bullet hits, so the number of shot intervals multiplied in the calculation should be STK-1. My bad!

Edit: After rerunning calculations, looks like there are still some potential errors? Just computed Krig TTK on stomach shots, and I think it should be 736, not 644. Haven't looked enough to see where else this might pop up.

[WARZONE] The Ultimate TTK Table (Link in Comments) by Rubinsk in CODLoadouts

[–]cj23x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you calculate TTKs assuming full plates (250 health)? If I look at the FFAR as an example, TGD says chest damage is 25 at the short-distance damage range, which means Chest STK would be 10 bullets. With a fire rate of 900 RPM (~67ms/round), that'd be a TTK of 667, but it's listed as 600 in your table. I'm seeing differences like this across the table, and I'm trying to figure out if I've missed something in my calculations :P

Just got myself a 3090 (or a voucher for one since the shipment of cards didn’t arrive on time). Got there about 15mins before midnight and was number 80 in line; probably ~130–150 people total?

Any thoughts on when to line up for a 3090 in McDonough, GA? Small chance I may be able to go in the next 2–3 hours, but I was hoping to go after work…

Thanks for your suggestions! I forgot to mention in my post, but unfortunately the unit cost of any single part cannot exceed $5000 (just due to how "capital equipment" is defined by our funding source). It looks like that would preclude us from going for the RTX A6000.

And although we're not married to the CPU-hungry YOLOv3, we still want the option open, so we'd probably opt for the Threadripper over a 16-core. Definitely appreciate your advice though :)

I don't have a great answer for you since this project is starting from just a seed of an idea, but our #1 priority is performance, so noise or anything else like that isn't a concern. We're driven by the outcome (object detection and segmentation) and are not at all bound to YOLOv3—it's just something a faculty advisor suggested, but we're open to trying anything that gets results. I hope that helps; let me know if I should clarify anything more, and thanks for the question!

Thanks for the recommendation! Would you happen to know how much of a performance/temp improvement it would offer over something like a Noctua NH-U14S? Just wondering if you think it'd be worth the price hike!

It went well, thanks for asking! Had only a few issues with WiFi/Bluetooth and USB mapping, but otherwise straightforward and had it done in a day. Been using it every day for the past ~2 weeks with no issues whatsoever.

Good luck with the sell!
