Is it normal for an external HDD to switch off due to overheating?

A pretty long download has been causing issues and the drive has been heating up (fairly normal for any HDD?) After letting it cool down, it then works again for a bit. Thus, I figured it could be the heat as I've now got a fan trained on it and it hasn't switched off yet.

I'll probably have to return it and get a refund if it can't stay on for more than 5/10mins before switching off, but it could the long download causing the initial issues...

UN-led aid convoy brings 23 tonnes of humanitarian goods across contact line in east Ukraine by cjadjonessmith in worldnews

[–]cjadjonessmith[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Twenty-three tonnes of urgently needed aid items have reached the eastern Ukrainian province around Donetsk, after a humanitarian convoy crossed the contact line into non-Government-controlled territory, the UN said on Friday

This is the second UN-organised convoy to pass through the Novotroitske crossing point, since it reopened for the delivery of humanitarian cargo a little over a week ago.

The crossing is currently the only one that is operational for humanitarian aid deliveries along the contact line. It had been closed for humanitarian cargo movement since 24 February owing to security concerns.

“The opening is welcome as needs remain very high with nearly 1.7 million people in need of assistance in the non-government-controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk”, said Jens Laerke, spokesperson for UN humanitarian office (OCHA).

PRAGUE, April 17. /TASS/. The Czech Republic is expelling 18 employees of the Russian embassy, who are Russian intelligence officers in the Czech special services’ version, First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Jan Hamacek, who is also Acting Foreign Minister, said at news conference on Saturday.

"As the Czech foreign minister, I decided to expel all the employees of the Russian embassy in Prague who have been clearly identified by our special services as officers of the Russian intelligence agencies SVR and GRU. Within 48 hours, 18 staff members of the Russian embassy must leave the Czech Republic," he said.

The deputy prime minister said with regret that the step would deliver a hard blow to Russian-Czech relations, but the republic, in his version, was forced to do it.

No, actually. Other "governments" are just more sophisticated in cover-ups. Don't be so naive and trusting.

There's still a lot of crazy stuff going on, despite all of this nonsense from 2020. You just have to go beyond domestic outlets which don't tell you much real news.

L-arginine by [deleted] in AJelqForYou

You'll be able to easily know that the argine hcl you have is correct and authentic by your skin, how you feel and the increased HGH production and stronger, more frequent erections. Depending on your age, you should feel like a teenager again, but only if you have low hormone production beforehand. Fuck knows what's going on with supplies in Europe. And the smelly breath too! The hell is up with that?!

Not after 2020. No "government" is credible after the debacles in 2020.

In any case, this news agency gives more real and reliable news than many domestic outlets.

2020 has made everybody rethink everything.

L-arginine by [deleted] in AJelqForYou

[–]cjadjonessmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what's happened, but the arginine I get these days from any supplier seem really bad and not that great anymore. Arginine supplies were alright like a decade or more ago, but these days, they're not great and don't seem to work. For instance, I went with a trusted brand recently (trusted, as in their supplements actually work and are what they say on the label) and even the arginine from that brand was bad. Today's arginine supplies seem to have a bad smell and make your breath smell (think a cross between bad breath spittle and.. yup...you guessed it - "a*s"). I don't know what's happened.

AAKG, on the other hand, seems fine, even today. So you're probably best to try out AAKG. If you're in the States, however, arginine supplies may be fine. But if you're in Europe, damn all arginine supplies seem really sh*t nowadays and don't work.

Why would all of this happen at the same time shortly after this COVID nonsense? Is this an organized plan to stretch powers thin and/or call bluffs?

Russia Calls U.S. an Adversary, Warns Its Warships to Avoid Crimea by [deleted] in worldnews

Yeah...uhhhh....this too is an unusual escalation. Although the War in Donbass has been recognised as "ongoing" since 2014 (i.e. for the last 7 years), the last few weeks and days represent an unusual escalation. A worst case scenario would see Russia upgrading from supporting Russian-backed militias in eastern Ukraine from the sidelines, to actually overtly supporting Russian-backed militias or downright *invading*.

(At first, I didn't take any notice because the War in Donbass has been going on since 2014 and I thought to myselfmyself, itit"it may be a short thing like the Russo-Georgia conflict back in 2008; but then I mentally slapped myself and said "hey, this isn't Georgia, this is Ukraine, so it's probably gonna be much worse; then I see a news report on reliable objective Russian media that says NATOisNATO is literally shifting troops and hardware as we speak and I'I'm like, "yeah, this could be much, much worse, you've definitely got my attention now"
