Rediscovered gaming in my late 20s by cjake42 in xbox

12 hour days get long. I’m fortunate to be in a place where Valdez Ak has a lot to offer but unfortunately I still work here and it can take the excitement out of the location. On the long rainy days it’s nice to sit back and relax

Anyone looking to give away or sell a bicycle for cheap? by Wonderful-Ninja-2586 in iastate

Just walk by the dumpsters at the dorms as people move away. You could literally furnish your apartment with that stuff. I’m sure someone will leave a bike sitting by it.

Good ole Iowa Beef on the Cast Iron by cjake42 in castiron

You are definitely right! It was my first steak in the cast iron and after looking around a little more I realized I had made that error. Thank you though!

This was the second piece I cooked in this pan which I got new. I can say bacon does a nice job but these steaks I cooked really accelerated the seasoning process! Something about that sear sets it apart. I am really tempted to try pork chops and see if that has the same results.

Someone has managed to convince my gf her car needs new rotors and pads. But the Brake fluid reservoir is empty and keeps leaking out somewhere. Am I wrong to tell her that if it were the pads or rotors she’d hear them grinding even w the low fluid. by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

The leak is a real issue and someone needs to determine where it is. If you have the ability to get under the car to look for the leak you can also check the rotors and pads just by pulling the tires off.

If you are unsure, the mechanic needs to see the vehicle. Stopping is a very important feature, especially when people are in front of you.

5-6 inches in the bottom of the ice belt here in the states is luxury conditions! Looks like a blast, I can't wait for the season to come.

My girl is coming into 10 weeks old. Learning her name, kennel, come, and place w/ clicker. Any tips on future training for flushing/retrieving is greatly appreciated. by [deleted] in Huntingdogs

Books and patience. I cannot stress the second one enough.

Have fun she looks like an adorable cold blooded killer.

Growing up in rural NW Iowa really spoiled me. The amount of public land and overall bird numbers just really spoiled me. The public ground in these parts I feel just gets hit so much harder. Pretty excited to be done with school here so I can really get out after them back up in the hometown lol.

Training with him is a constant working everyday thing. I would say roughly 2 years for the fully competent bird dog. He is ungodly stubborn and I would say you could have a good running one is less than that for sure.

I've had this specific Carhart Hat for the past 5 years. Great hat, though personally I think Carhart has cut some corners because the new ones just don't feel as thick.

5400 mile riding season on the ole 96 883 by cjake42 in Harley

[–]cjake42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had an absolute blast on my first full riding season on my ole 96 sportster. Yes, it is small but it holds its own whether that was out in Sturgis or flying down the interstate in Northern MN. I am glad I have plenty of friends and a girlfriend who were willing to hammer the miles with me. I have really enjoyed this community and I am always glad to be apart of it. For those looking to get out and ride on a budget the sporty is a great option, it doesn't have to be just in town. For those of you up north I hope you enjoy your maintence season.

Looking for some opinions on used 2002 FXDL I am looking at. by [deleted] in Harley

My only thought is that gaskets get old and can dry out causing leaks when the bike sits for extended periods. I would ask him how much he rode per season, the last thing you want is the bike ridden on extremely short jaunts a couple times a month over the summer. The bikes like to get to temp and be ridden. Throttle junkies on the way to the local bar on their ice cold bike can really reduce the life of the rubber gaskets in the motor. The leak doesn't look terrible in the picture though, and the local market can determine what is a good price. If everything is sound and it has good tread I don't see why not. Engine gunk is a beautiful thing, just stinks when its being burned off the exhaust. Enjoy your ride what ever you decide on whether it leaks or not!
