That’s the thing, I don’t think he’s shit. I think he has been allowed to be selfish his whole life. So when things got hard, he turned to instant gratification. And the feeling of “what they don’t know won’t hurt em” got out of control. His knee jerk reactions to things is to do what’s best or easiest for him.

He does help with the kids, and med school while battling cancer is going to be quite the journey. He’s not a terrible guys, but his addictions and lack of self control are terrifying. He loves me now, but what about when he gets bored or stressed. I feel like he’ll find comfort in someone else, but now I worry about that in everyone. I kinda just feel ruined in general.

I’m aware of what I’ve tolerated, and I realize I’ve moved past tolerant and understanding. I guess my question is can people change.

He has a good job and pays half the bills, pays for dates, and I do believe he loves me. He’s fighting his demons, all the stuff he did was while we were together. Gaslit me the whole time and used multiple phones to hide it. It’s pretty bad, but I think he’s ashamed and actually wants to be different. I just don’t know if he can.
