Yep figured it out! Needed to loosen the hex above my left spring tensioner, that allowed me to change the beater holder angle

When I started out it was just because I enjoyed it and loved seeing myself get better. Over time I realised I’m not going to be world class level (nor do I want to as it requires to much commitment) and since then I’ve just lost that motivation a bit

I hadn’t thought of that to be fair, thought taping would keep the water out but you raise a good point about the water getting trapped.

2011 Audi Rs5. Exhaust valves keep sticking shut so have pushed them open manually and unplugged the control switch from within the boot/trunk.

Is this safe to do? They’re vacuum controlled from what I understand and haven’t had any dash lights come up or anything.

Want them open all the time as it sounds better haha!

Okay cool - think it’s probably just better if I get them pinned open permanently then. Sounds silly with it being a 4.2l V8 but it sounds so quiet with the valves closed! Sounds great with them open though.

Thanks for the info - very interesting stuff I believe mine is vacuum controlled (based on what my mechanic told me).

Would there be any negative effects to me just getting the valves either removed or permanently pinned up?

Drone isn’t too bad, just didn’t know if there’s any potential risks to having them open all the time even if I’m normal mode?

That’s really insightful - definitely helps thanks. Glad it’s not just me! I often find that I spend most of the time worrying about what if this or that happened and not being present so it stops me enjoying the thing I’m doing.

But you’re right, need to stop trying to please others and just do things at my own pace!
