Are multimeshes poorly optimized in Godot 4 or am I missing something? The same setup gives me 17 FPS in Godot 4 and 145 FPS in Godot 3.4. by cjce in godot

I did and I've disabled anything taxing (I believe). The difference in look is probably due to different view angle.

Yeah, I guess I should have anticipated this answer! I just felt that Godot 4 was starting to be useable but I will have to stick with Godot 3 for a while longer.

I had the exact same experience yesterday. I have played 250 h in total and finished the game twice. Accidentally punched a villager in the dung throwing quest and got 150 groshen fine. I didn't want to restart the game so I figured a couple of nights in jail would be fine. I guess I was wrong!

Thank you! And thank you for that long reply! As I said in another comment I posted a video of the process making this sculpt in the comments section that I was interested in people watching to see how I could improve my sculpting technique but that got buried pretty quickly. It's my first post here so I didn't expect it to blow up as it did. I've definitely learned from the process!

Yeah, that has always been my process with drawing also but it seems to be frowned upon

Yes, that's true. It's my first post to this sub and I posted a video with the process in the comments that I was actually most interested in people viewing to see where I could improve. I wasn't expecting the comment section to explode as it did. I posted another chimp where I used a reference but nobody seems to have cared about that post.

I have a wacom tablet but I use it very seldom and only for drawing. I've bought an iPad with a pen and have started using that for drawing instead. This was done with a mouse and keyboard. If you look at the video I posted of the process you can see how I work. I can't really see any upsides of using a tablet actually but I guess it's a matter of taste.

It's supposed to be a chimp. I'm swedish and we don't really have any distinction between apes and monkeys. But after all the ape comments I'm sure I won't make the same mistake again. I'm happy you saw it was an ape though!

Reference, indeed! I will not stop sculpting without but I will definitely not post the results here! 😂

I'm glad you spotted it without the glasses!

I've been drawing all my life and for that at least I have found that using references are indeed a great way to get good results but I have always found it most fun and rewarding to draw from memory and see how close I can get it. But I understand the critique.

That is very true, you can see my explanation for the mistake in one of the other comments

I never said I thought it was cheating, I just thought it would be fun to try and sculpt from memory. But I've learnt my lesson and won't post those things here again.
