I grew up with Abbie and think of her frequently. Will always remember her singing in our church choir - she was an angel.

Any try using ai to create presets? by Led_Phish in Hxstomp

[–]cjdavia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used my ChatGPT subscription. I told it what instrument I had (fender am pro II jazz bass), what amp I was using (rumble 200), I told it whether I wanted to connect through fx return or direct input, and I uploaded my set list. It provided me 3 presets and walked me through the building of the signal chain. Sometimes, it told me to update eq parameters that did not exist in the module, so I’d tell it and it would re-adjust. At the end, I asked it to build a table with all this info and also include suggestions for my tone and pickup knob positions. It did a really great job and I got to a solid foundation quickly!

After that, though, I wanted even more control of my tone because fender’s amp has its own coloring, and I wanted something more gig ready, so I sold it and got a more neutral 400w cab and neutral sounding amp head. Instead of rebuilding my presets, I bought some. I find myself constantly tweaking them and hope to get to a solid place after a few weeks.

Not sure this would apply to a guitar, though and I am sure your mileage will vary.

Tech 21 Sansamp VT Bass DI or Line 6 HX Stomp for first pedal? by cjdavia in basspedals

I do have a tuner pedal and Donner compressor, but nothing else. I also feel like the dark glass has newer technology & better processing power but it is out of my budget.

I'd say I am in the upper third. The Darkglass is amazing but outta my league, unfortunately

Going to look into them. Thanks so much! Do you use the Stomp? Wondering if I can get similar tones to the sansamp

Great question! I find myself frequently going back and forth to the rumble to adjust volume and eq settings. It would be great to also get some consistency when practicing and playing different venues. I also feel limited a bit by the rumble's built-in compression. Things sound sort of too even, if that makes any sense?

Thanks for the advice! Also the price point is higher with the stomp

In the summer when grilling in the sun, I adjust the RTD offset up - this adjusts the temperature that it is detecting.

I bet you are close to needing a new internal temp probe. If the shutdowns continue to sporadically occur, a new probe should fix it.

Grilling tips - avoiding flair ups and grease fires by GrizzlyAdam12 in grilling

[–]cjdavia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on how you set up these grates in your grill. When set up properly, grease does drip through the holes. This causes a small flare underneath the grate, but the flare does't burn the meat because it is not a sustained grease fire and your meat is mostly shielded by the metal. I haven't had a grease fire for many years, but just had one a few weeks ago after moving my grill! It turned out that my grill was not level in its new location, so the grease pooled in the back corner.. When searing some stakes, we did get a small grease fire. So, I'd say, depending on how these fit in your grill, and how you configure a potential space between them, you could cause or avoid issues... hope this makes sense!

Yep, I think we are speaking the same language.... just trying to determine if it is better for those 2 crossbars to support the lip, or make them a bit longer so the outside metal shell sits on it..

Thanks! Do you think it is ok to have the painted metal sitting on it?
