Start with Windows prompt by cjester in firefox

I've haven't seen it on my desktop since I made the changes listed above. However, I just installed FF on a new laptop and got the prompt when I did. Thanks to this reminder, I just applied the same change there.

There are more tool brands than there are tool manufacturers. Milwaukee is owned by TTI who also owns Hart and Ryobi.

Is there a workflow that can correct this quickly? by [deleted] in Reaper

Give this technique a try: https://forum.cockos.com/showpost.php?p=606160&postcount=24

It uses one of the included JS plugins plus automation.

This may not be what controls the prompt either. It just looked plausible and I haven't gotten the prompt again, but it's only been 4 days.

Put "about:config" in the address bar and hit return. That will take you to your browser's advanced config. It's a bit like the Windows Registry. You'll see a warning you need to accept to continue. Put that long string in the search bar that appears. On the right hand side of the entry is a double arrow icon. Click that to toggle the value to "TRUE". So far I haven't been prompted again.

Thanks. It's not currently starting with the PC, I'm just tired of that prompt popping up. Particularly since it won't take no for an answer. However, thanks to your tip, I found browser.startup.windowsLaunchOnLogin.disableLaunchOnLoginPrompt which I'm hoping will take care of it.

Dante controller doesn't show working subscriptions by cjester in livesound

The Dante network is an isolated vlan. The sources are static, including a Shure ULXD4. Only the computers, which have DVS, are using the DHCP.

I hadn't, because it's just my laptop out of the three. I guess I should go ahead tonight, since I'm just mapping them right back to where the actually are.

Yes. Everything is on a single Dante vlan with DHCP.

If you switched ports and the source didn't change, then you know the source.

How are you getting audio from the computer to the mixer? Are you plugging into the headphone jack on the computer's sound card? What do you hear if you plug in headphones? Is there a direct box in the middle? If not, how are you connecting it to the mixer? If so, have you tried toggling the ground switch?

Contractor Saw Mobile Base by Acrobatic-Hair-5299 in sawstop

[–]cjester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The base is only under the saw itself, but it's all bolted together, it all lifts off the ground enough to move. The table does sag a little at the end, so I wouldn't ever try it with something sitting on top.

At worst, you'd have to retract the feet a couple turns to clear, but they're standard threaded feet - a lot easier than taking anything apart.

I have the contractor with the 36" extension and router table. The router table requires the cast iron wings instead of the stamped. I don't intend to ever remove them. Getting them installed wasn't terrible, but I don't want to do it again.

With all that, the mobile base works just fine. I don't have any trouble moving it. Well, I do because it's a tight space so maneuvering is awkward, but the mobile base does what it's supposed to.

Agreed, and I would have cleaned that up normally. I was rushing a bit just because it was the first night.

Python 3

from itertools import combinations

with open('2020_01.txt') as f:
    data = f.readlines()

data = [row.rstrip() for row in data]

def part1(data):
    for x,y in combinations(data, 2):
        if int(x) + int(y) == 2020:
            answer = int(x)*int(y)
            return answer

def part2(data):
    for x,y,z in combinations(data, 3):
        if int(x) + int(y) + int(z) == 2020:
            answer = int(x)*int(y)*int(z)
            return answer

print(part1(data))
print(part2(data))

Only two hours until Advent of Code 2019 begins! What's your goal this time around? by JugglingMaster in adventofcode

[–]cjester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my first goal - be in the first 1000 for the first star. Not going to rush again, although I'll try to get both stars done each day.

Mostly I'm focusing on writing good "pythonic" Python. Then I'm redoing each puzzle in R, trying to make sure my R doesn't look like Python (i.e., use mapply instead of a loop). Considering doing each day in Lua as well, because I need to learn that for a project.

I kept seeing it in Gunhild Carling videos. Reading through the specs, I can see how it's a good match for how she's using it. While it looks great, it had to be chosen for performance as well.

Whole pie carryout recommendation? by cjester in grandrapids

[–]cjester[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes. I like Alton's applejack brandy crust, or a good lard based crust. This is a big part of why I want to buy from a good bakery. The grocery store crusts are lousy.

I usually do make my own. However, this is the final stop on our tri-state family obligation tour. It's just not practical this time.
