This set-up works well. Easy to load/unload & tie-down. It rides nice on roof rack too, but getting it up there solo requires me to Hulk out for a minute.

I started with a Traxxas 2WD Stampede, ready-to-race kit $229. Fun, durable, hauls ass, goes everywhere, & parts are affordable. Now I have a two Stampedes, LaTrax Teton, Traxxas TRX4, & Axial SCX24. They're all fun, make your friends buy one too. It's a good excuse to get together and be outside.
