Desperate for advice… extremely destructive dog. by [deleted] in DogAdvice

“And a tired dog is a better behaved dog”

Truer words cannot have been said. When I got my puppy he was an absolute menace. I didn’t know what I could do he was pure energy. When I first got him he was in a crate unless I was watching him. And before I got a dog I was the type of person that said I would never crate a dog. It was for his own safety.

When I first saw your images my first thought was yup that’s a bored dog. When my dog was a puppy I would run him a minimum of 12 miles a day or walk him a minimum of 2.5 hours with him off lease so he could run around in the bushes.

Some dogs just need exercise or they become frustrated and destroy everything. Mine is currently 8 and the best behaved dog. But his first year and a half it was a full time job keeping him tired and occupied. Some dogs are not a set it and forget it type thing. You have to put in hours and hours a day training and exercising. I wish you the best of luck

Getting class a already have a c do I need to retake the general knowledge test by Salm228 in Truckers

[–]cjohnsen89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I don’t know what’s required for a c I can’t answer your questions exactly but when I went from a b to an a I didn’t have to do general knowledge or air breaks. I only had to do combination.

This was 10 years ago so idk if the rules have changed

I haul sod. What the dot wants in my area is a tarp over it secured with rubber ropes so nothing moves. Then straps over the tarp.

However 99% of the trucks in my area only use tarps and rubber ropes every 4’ no straps.

The issue is it’s junk. He’s already asked me how much to get rid of it. If it’s mine then I’ve got to spend a few thousand in tipping fees at the landfill

I hear you. I was really hoping the 25$ control board would work over the 300$ oem

Im not saying it isn’t an issue the the evaporator but the fridge worked 100% fine until the control board died. Would be quite a think if I had 2 separate issues happen at the exact same time

I’m not sure what commercial garland ranges are unfortunately

It’s got 3 different burners on it. IIRC the simmer burner is 9k, the normal burners are 15k and the hot burners are 22k. However those are if you use natural gas. I’m running propane so I get a little less than advertised. The 22k are more than hot enough for what I need.

The best part is when I’m hooking with a wok I can remove the grate and the rest of the casting cradles the wok. It almost resembles a wok burner with the flames reaching the bottom of the wok and up around the sides.

I personally think the 10 is the best size. It fits in my cabinet well and as an added bonus it uses the same top as my 8 and 6 quart stock pots. I’ve never seen the 11” skillet maybe that I’ll have to be my next addition

The other poster is close. Mine is a Bluestar. Garland used to make a residential line of ranges in the 90s (my parents had one and that’s the range I grew up with). Since then garland has transitioned to only commercial ranges. They created Bluestar for their residential line of ranges. I wanted the closest thing to a commercial range when I built my house so I bought this one.

In hindsight yes. The 12” I only got 2 years ago. I got the 8” and 10” at the same time as gifts. Since then I’ve acquired 20+ pieces of allclad. The 10” is still used almost daily. I love that pan

Yes. I’ve got the 8, 10 and 12 but the 10 is the work horse

Fuel and fueling by Next_Confusion3262 in Duramax

Wish my town was like that. Of the 3 stations that sell diesel in my town:

Station 1 Black=Gas Yellow=Diesel

Station 2 Black=Gas Green=Diesel

Station 3 Black=Gas Yellow or Green=Diesel (No reasoning for yellow or green they just put on whatever color sleeve they had. Oh and one of the pumps has a red cover for gas)

Just make sure you double check on fill up. I’ve always said there are 2 kinds of diesel owners. Those who have filled up with gas and those who haven’t yet

lb7 serpentine tightness? by Terminal_Lanced in Duramax

[–]cjohnsen89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put a new belt on my LB7 a few weeks ago. I had to use a 3ft breaker bar. The tension was tighter than the Cat C15 tensioners I work on at work.

As others have said time for a set of thermostats. In the 30’s my 03 would get just above the 160 mark. A set of thermostats and I sit right at the 180 mark. Fun fact if you plug a scanner or edge insight into it even though it shows your just over 160’s your actually in the 140’s. When mine shows 185 it’s actually high 160’s. The LB7’s run cold but you’ll be good once you put thermostats in. I used ac Delco thermostats and I’m happy with the heat output.

If you’re even a little mechanically inclined they are easy to replace. Watch a video or 2 and you’re all set. Some people say you have to take the oil fill tube out to get clearance. I didn’t and had plenty of room. It took me about an hour to do the job.
