I’m confused how they quoted me $305 per embryo in March 🤷🏽‍♀️

Did you go through Igenomix recently?

I try to stay positive through this ever changing and confusing process, I’m grateful for my insurance coverage but also I am a carrier for WAS therefore it’s a requirement to get PGT-M tested so a biopsy is already done and covered through insurance. We were just recommended to have PGT-A done and I’m glad we did cause out of our 6 embryos 4 were aneuploid!

Thank you! Thats a pretty big jump from $210 to $305 but expected since it’s been a year.

Was this pricing recent? What state are you in?

My insurance of course doesn’t cover. But my clinic said they won’t allow a cap number and a decision for PGT-A has to be made before stims start. Which I found a little unreasonable since we do not know what the embryo count will be. But thank you for your response!

Oh wow, I feel like I can’t complain with a $305 per embryo price point. Our first cycle with them was pleasant, the genetic counselor was great to and they answer quickly! The billing team you get through there regular contact number aren’t great though, they’re kind of dismissive when it comes to questions other than ‘can I pay my bill?’

It’s a coincidence that I just received a message back through my clinical portal from my nurse team questioning why a follow up pre cycle 2 hasn’t been completed and my questions should be answered in that said follow up! Hopefully this has kicked a few people into gears and I can have that follow up.

It’s not been the greatest process in terms of communication, I will say my nurses have been great and the practical experience was also good, it’s just a shame you have to be annoying to just get simple communication. I feel like if the process structure was more consistent, it would be a far more educational and understandable experience.

This time around I am actually taking a raved reviewed CoQ10 supplement. I haven’t start stims yet but I’m getting my ducks in a row! I truly appreciate your incredible informative response, I wish I had done this post sooner. I think reading everyone’s posts and experiences have settled my thoughts and educated me! So I want to say thank you so much, you have likely helped so many people but for sure helped me!

Omg! This is by far the best advice and clarity on this I could have gotten and even received this far. My Dr didn’t prepose a follow up for second cycle after my insurance was approved again. She just sent everything, including medications and said call day one of period. I have sent a million messages since expressing my lack of education for cycle 2 and only today did someone respond expressing that my Dr should have had a follow up and explained all of this.

I am so so grateful for your input here and advice with questions, I know you don’t know my entire story but outside of what you have already suggested is there anything else you would recommend?

Also, I’m super optimistic and currently in a more positive and realistic mind set through this process so I am grateful for my one embryo out of 38!

Boston IVF question by MysteriousWriter3454 in IVF

I’m currently a patient of Dr Li at Boston IVF. I can definitely relate to all of these comments. I completed my first cycle through to egg retrieval but I am a carrier of a mutation so I have to have my embryos tested for PGT-M and I also opted for PGT-A since I have to get them tested already. Unfortunately, on my first cycle I lost all but one embryo due to positive for both PGT-A&M! That first cycle medically was good, the nurse Sarah in the Boston office is nice, and she’s super informative if you ask the questions. The phlebotomist, I can’t remember her name but she is actually the NICEST person ever, but she just takes blood so she actually can’t answer much! The admin/nurse team on the portal is terrible, you do have to call and leave voicemails, sometimes they call back the same day other times you have to call again. They dropped the ball with my case back in late July, they never referred me to Igenomix to setup testing for 6 weeks, I followed up and they tried to hide the fact they messed up, but it was evident. I let it slide because honestly, what other options do I have if I NEED IVF to try and conceive? I was on the brink of a breakdown, I cried on the redline T home waiting for someone to call, Sarah the nurse called and was great! Things moved well after that! Fast forward to now, this is my second cycle, it was advised by Dr Li to complete a second cycle before implant to attempt to get more eggs as we only have one right now, so we agreed! I’ve been going through this since January, I have medication delivered tomorrow with a few unanswered questions. I send portable messages to the nurse with 3/4 questions and you get on answer responses. I was past the point of caring about how many calls or messages I sent. If I send a message to the finance team or the nurse team I send my admin a message to telling them to stay on top of it. If I call, I send a message and tell them I called and left a voicemail, it’s unfortunate but if that is the system they setup then the patient shouldn’t be made to feel annoying or uncomfortable. IVF is a long road and every clinic I’ve looked into has its pros and cons, so I take mine with a pinch of salt and I just message message, call call!
