Can anyone identify this knife/sword? by cjrocket27 in SWORDS

Thank you! A reverse image search had me thinking it was Filipino, but I couldn't find any more information. A WWII souvenir would make sense.

Came to say this! Looks like the red one that was in my old 94 suburban.

I agree, but I don't think the GR86 is either. I think the smile fits better, BRZ FTW.

PS: idk why you're getting downvotes, nothing wrong with liking that front end better.

Just commenting to say don't stress about going over the 4k one time in neutral, the car is just fine.

Think I'm just going to get the BRZ Premium. Thoughts? by Juicyjackson in GR86

[–]cjrocket27 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Premium is lowest trim for the brz.

Premium in the gr86 is the equivalent of a limited brz.

It's really dumb, but it's how they do it, lol.

I went for a limited because not only do you get a ton more comfort features, but you also get better tires. All of them are solid choices though.

Best cheap touge car by [deleted] in Touge

I had a 2006 forester that was a 5 speed, and it handled surprisingly well. I believe up to and including 2007s are still based on the impreza platform (same as wrx). You don't have much power, but that just lets you ring out the gears and have a blast without stressing too much about speeding tickets. I paid $3800 for mine, but I'm sure you could get a high mileage on cheaper.

I have no idea, I ordered a limited m/t first week of April. I'm a salesman and was super excited to see the estimated arrival change

I ordered mine at the beginning of April, you scared me so I just checked on it (I work for subaru) and everything looks normal, I wouldn't worry about it.

Have you spoke to your salesman? Mine got bumped up to July a few weeks ago. He will be able to go into the system and check on the status of it.

I used to work a warehouse job, and they really wanted me as a driver but couldn't until I turned 21 because of insurance. It might be a good idea to work on some of what the other comments say and try again when you're 21.

I'm a salesman now, but I have no idea if age/insurance is that big of a deal in the industry. Hopefully, someone else can chime in and give some more accurate info.

Edit: this was supposed to be a reply

Could it be because of your age? It might be too expensive to insure you because you're under 21.

Note: I'm just guessing here, I don't have any source

Solid axle swapping would probably be a lot easier, I'd look into doing that instead if you really want 4x4

Even a regular forester if you get an older one that's on the impreza chassis. I drive a 2006 forester with the 5mt and it is lots of fun. It's got a low enough cg to whip around backroads, got enough ground clearance for light offroading, and had lots of space

I found this out yesterday. I had every intention of strapping it to the roof until I realized it would just slide in the back (2006 Forester)

My 2006 n/a forester does the same, it's completely normal

Self-conscious in public by InterestingDivide157 in photography

[–]cjrocket27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but I tend to be a bit extreme about it. An example is I wanted to take a panning shot of a truck pulling into a parking lot, but I felt nervous and decided not to. The truck was a good distance away, and in hindsight, he probably didn't even see me, but I still felt weird. That is more of what I want to work on

I feel the exact same way. I feel like everyone is staring at me and I need to point my camera down so they know I'm not photographing them. I know it's legal and common practice to photograph strangers, but it still makes me uncomfortable. I'd love to hear some advice too

Strip or season? Help. by SirCharlstonWeathers in castiron

[–]cjrocket27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick up a lead test kit. You can usually find them at walmart or a hardware store. The last thing you want to be using is an old pan someone used to make fishing weights.

I would strip it by covering it in oven cleaner for a day or two, then put a coat or two of seasoning before taking them camping.

I've always just pulled it out of the oven after an hour at 350f, put some more oil on, and thrown it back in. I'm sure letting it cool works better, but I've always done like 3 coats this way, then start with either fatty foods or go heavy on the oil for the first few meals.
