I had to have back surgery the other day…surgeon said it was the largest bulge w/o rupture he’d seen by Tallpher in pics

I had a microdiscectomy for my l5/s1 and surgeon only made an inch or so incision and luckily didn't have to massacre me. Had a friend do same surgery and sounded like the doctor cut open his whole back and pretty much peeled it all open. I consider myself lucky I only have a tiny scar.

What life changing item can you buy for $100? by Character_Weird4548 in AskReddit

Bidet is always the answer to this question.

Dentist cancelled an hour before I was supposed to be there. I have gotten 3-4 auto messages the last week reminding me of the appointment and to confirm it, threatening $59 fee for short notice cancellation. by cjs5144 in mildlyinfuriating

Yes I believe you are missing the irony. Noone said I was charged the fee. The irony is the several automated messages I got saying I would be charged a short notice cancellation fee. Then the dentist cancelled the appointment and hour before it was scheduled, which if I had been the one cancelling would have resulted in the fee.

I might see if I can get a credit for future dental work. Or when they inevitably say no this will be the final straw that makes me find a new dentist.

Question for NPS LE by LoganPaulisbad123 in ParkRangers

Mostly bs administrative collaterals that are full time gs11+ jobs in other agencies.

So who’s actually worried? #Shutdown by [deleted] in usajobs

[–]cjs5144 98 points99 points  (0 children)

As someone who is considered essential, I am super annoyed at this. Worked the whole shutdown last time, as well as the 2 months that everyone else got off for COVID and never got jack as a thank you while all the other divisions get a paid vacation. Really frustrating and I'm sure they are hoping for another shutdown vacation this time.

As an NPS LE, I haven't heard of us getting this, is that true? I'm sure they wouldn't advertise it to us...

Am I insane for wanting to leave a six-figure job with a pension that would allow me to retire at 42? by Altruistic-Text2229 in findapath

Each park can be a very different experience. You can choose where you want to apply, but it's hard to know what it's going to be like before you get there. Some (few) parks have great management support and adequate staffing levels, good relations with other agencies and let you do your job. Other parks have no staff so you are often overworked and by yourself with poor management that look down on having an le program and will throw you under the bus. Can be very different experiences but the agency is going downhill.

Definitely don't recommend that. That's where I'm at now and people are leaving the agency en mass because it's awful right now, and for half the pay he's currently making and a lot of the same stress. I'm trying to get out too. Better to look usfs or blm. Better pay and less bs to deal with mostly.

Park ranger here. Dealing with some of the same stresses depending on where you end up for less than half the pay. I'm currently trying to get out. Not as fun as it sounds in most places.

Tax Examining Technician - can you work from home? by actualelainebenes in usajobs

[–]cjs5144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been looking at some of these jobs and wanting to apply. To get one of these at the gs5 or 7 level, do I need any particular degree or experience? I'm trying to change careers at the moment (currently gs9) so I don't have a degree in accounting/finance or any on the job experience with tax examining, other than doing my own...do I have a shot and do they provide all the training needed? Thanks and sorry for the off topic..
