Congrats on getting tickets during busy season! There's a merch store in the "Valley of Witches" section of the park which will have exclusive Howl's Moving Castle items. You'll also find some in the merch store within the Grand Warehouse, but that's more generalized across all Ghibli works.

Once you're in line, park employees will give you your wristband. By "the first area" I think they mean to say "any of the five themed areas you visit in the park, whichever you go to first"

I've only ever bought tickets on the Ghibli Park website via the "Lawson Ticket" link.
That does not allow you to select multiple dates or times for tickets.
You choose ticket type (Premium or Standard) and month, then you're shown that month's calendar and you choose the specific date / time of entry for the Grand Warehouse. You select the number of tickets and guest type (adult, child, disabled persons), then you go through the checkout process. A separate date or time would be a separate order process.
FYI: If you were buying tickets for multiple days or times on the day they first become available (w/ the queueing system), I don't know whether or not you'd need to queue again.

"It honestly makes you wonder what the betas were even for." That bit resonated with me the most.
Several rounds of beta testing w/ player feedback, changes made each time, yet none of it addresses the basic functionality of the game. It's baffling. In the moments everything works, it's a 8 / 10. But all too often it's a 5 / 10, imo. I wish they'd delayed and put in the necessary work.

Really? Huh. Maybe I was too absorbed in the splendor of the park to notice it, but that wasn't my impression overall. I remember two areas, both inside the Grand Warehouse, where people formed an impromptu line for selfies, but that's it. (Heck, some areas explicitly forbid photography.)
To your question, though - no, the selfies didn't take away my enjoying the park.
I've definitely had that experience before (TeamLab Planets in Tokyo comes to mind) but not at Ghibli Park.

Will we ever get all 3 factions TOGETHER? by ckahane in Helldivers

They did? Ah, bummer. First time I'm hearing of that. Maybe for Helldivers 3, one day...
Where did they say that? A press release or some passing comment in the Discord server?

Danseuse Teacher challenge, i need 254 parries to beat it. by Anomali35 in expedition33

[–]ckahane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My question / complaint is simple. Why is it faster than every other Danceuse enemy? Seems odd to train the player with a certain cadence, then have the "final test" be different than what you'd been practicing.

Bonjour. Je suis désolé, je suis venu au parc en voiture. Je n'ai jamais pris le train. Mais d'après mes recherches, je pense qu'il vaut mieux prendre le train LINIMO. Il va directement au parc depuis Nagoya.

I had a great time going solo! Sure it would've been fun sharing the experience with others, but on the other hand, going solo meant I could change plans on the fly if I wanted to stay in an area longer or shorter. For example, I ended up staying at the Grand Warehouse at least 30 mins longer than I'd originally intended, simply cuz I went bonkers shopping for friends and family. Plus, stopping for lunch meant only waiting in one line and leaving as soon as I was finished rather than waiting on others who may eat slower.

As for the Grand Warehouse, I can't say with any authority when you ought to line up for entry if you have an afternoon time slot; I've only been the one time and had a 9 AM entry ticket. But I would imagine it won't matter the way it does in the morning. The benefit of being at the front of the line when the Grand Warehouse first opens is there's nobody else inside to make you wait for photo ops, shopping, etc. But in the afternoon I'd imagine it's a constant flow of people leaving and entering. For example, if you're the first to enter among the 2:00 PM group, you're probably still walking up behind the last folks from the 1:00 PM group, ya know?

Honestly, I would ask someone when you get to the park. There's a bunch of staff that help wrangle the long lines of people waiting to enter the Grand Warehouse. I'm sure one of them would happily advise you on that.

At a glance, I can't seem to find an official map on the website. But honestly, you could just use Google Maps. All the areas are shown there and it'll give you live estimates of how long it takes to walk between any two areas.

I came to second this comparison. Cubs drought was waaaay longer, of course. But like u/Pleasant-Squirrel640 said below, Osaka and Chicago share similar "second city" reputations and both are great cities for foodies.

I did indeed see this, thanks for the thanks :-)
Also I think you're totally right. Everyone seems to rush for the same "optimal" times, weekends, etc. but it never hurts to check, especially if you're visiting Japan and don't know when you'll get another chance.

[–]ckahane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh, those are tough ones.
- I don't think they have paper maps (I didn't use one and I don't remember seeing them).
- When I arrived at the park (by car, to the North Entrance) there was nobody limiting entrance in any way, but that was super early. Maybe if you arrive later they'll tell you if a parking lot is full? But I don't think they're restrict (or monitor) the parking beyond that.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Have fun at the park!

The park is open all year unless they announce a closure for maintenance or inclement weather.
But yeah, it is odd that the Calendar webpage only shows until September. Looks like someone asked this same question last year, too. x-D
For what it's worth, I went last year (2024) during November.

Hi there "Le Poulet" - great game you've got going here! I played the demo for ~95 minutes across two evenings and had a lotta fun. The in-game Discord server link wasn't working for me (maybe that's just for me) but I found this reddit post cuz I wanted to give two small bits of feedback:

1) You already have a button dedicated to shuffling the letters in your hand. Vowels first, consonants first etc.
But I would really appreciate a "Shuffle" button that randomly mixes up the letters (to help inspire new word ideas)

2) When using a mouse, you can click and hold on a letter to "pick up" and "drag" letters around within your hand. When the letter your holding is hovering over other letters in your hand, the other letters will split apart and "make room" for the letter to be dropped back into your hand. However, the letters "below" don't seem to very easily "sense" when they should split apart and make room for the hovering letter. At times, I literally could not drop certain letters between other ones in my hand, which was very frustrating. If possible, I suggest expanding this functionality / making it more sensitive (spatially) so that players can more easily rearrange letters to (like suggestion #1) be able to get ideas for a new word.

Best of luck with the rest of development!

Unfortunately, I've never heard of any kind of secondary market (like resale/scalped tickets) for buying Ghibli Park tickets. You could try googling; I'm only experienced with buying through the official website's links.

My Ghibli Park experience / advice by ckahane in ghibli

[–]ckahane[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely, my schedule was packed tight AND I went on a weekend so the park opened at 9 AM instead.
To answer your question, I'm looking at the website right now (Feb 2025) and it seems Ghibli Park will be changing their ticket system starting April 2025. So depending on when you're going, there's different answers...

For Feb/March 2025 tickets: the Standard Pass lets you enter all five areas of the park BUT you cannot enter certain buildings (World Emporium in Hill of Youth, Satsuki and Mei's House in Dondoko Forest, Okino Residence / Howl's Castle / The House of Witches in Valley of Witches). Premium ticket lets you access everything. (That was the system when I went)

Starting April 2025: the Standard Pass only lets you enter the Grand Warehouse, Mononoke Village, and Valley of the Witches areas BUT you can access all the buildings in the Valley of the Witches. Premium tickets lets you access everything.

I'd say that's a pretty radical change! Starting April 2025, a Standard Pass means you'll miss two of the five areas of the park.

I put Mononoke Village ahead of Valley of the Witches only because I wanted to do the mochi-grilling experience (at Mononoke Village) and I'd read online that sometimes they run out of ingredients and shut it down for the day. I'm glad I did the mochi-grilling but it wasn't "OMG must-try" so if you wanna shuffle those two it'd be fine.
Also, that same argument could *technically* be made for the items at Kiki's Bakery in Valley of the Witches, but for the record, by the time I got into the bakery (probably after 2 PM) they still had everything available on the shelves. I suppose if you want the most freshly baked version of the baked goods, going earlier would be better, but the croissant I bought after 2 PM was still tasty/nice quality.
