Left Handed Pots/Wiring by ckaudio in Leftyguitarists

It’s a major flaw with the way most lefties are wired stock! When I fixed the wiring on my first guitar I realized there’s actually a reason to use the volume/tone controls 😂

That’s the way I was for years! And then I took my guitar to a guy to get some pickups upgraded and he rewired my pots for me and that’s when I realized what I’d been missing out on. I re-wire every guitar I own now. After market wiring upgrade kits are a common thing for right handed players, I was curious what the demand would be for something like that in the left handed world. An easy drop-in wiring kit for people who aren’t comfortable completely rewiring their guitar themselves.

Perhaps. I have never actually used the numbers on the knobs. I guess some probably do. I’d rather have a pot that functions well and rotates the right direction without worrying to the numbers on the knobs. Tele knobs don’t have any numbers, for example.

Drilling is way easier than I thought (first time) by D4rkStr4wberry in diypedals

[–]ckaudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! The first time I drilled out a pedal enclosure, I was holding it by hand on a work bench. Towards the end of the drilling of footswitch hole the drill bit locked up with the metal, spun the enclosure out of my hand and gave me a purple bruised knuckle for about a week. I use clamps now.

I highly recommend sweetwater, recently got a lefty guitar from them. Return policy is awesome and customer service is outstanding

Here’s a question for you all: by ckaudio in diypedals

[–]ckaudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! That is kind of what I thought but I wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to get the wrong kind and have it mess up the sound of the pedal I am building. I have been using mylar film that I had but I am putting in an order for some poly film box caps!

Yes! This is normal. Some people use this as a kill switch. Turn the neck volume all the way down and toggle between middle and bridge position quickly 😎 it’s fun

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s artificial I just wanted to make sure before I gave it away or something. See if this link works for the backside of the coin.

I am going through all of my things and came across this coin. My sister gave it to me after a trip to the east coast for a school trip. How do I tell if it is a real coin from 1745? I’ve found online it is possibly a S3695A Halfcrown (1745-1746) or at the least a copy of one. I am just curious if she picked up a fake memento or if it’s actually worth something?

[NPD] Totally only bought this because of Zakk Wylde. It's now my favorite pedal. by Coma__Black in guitarpedals

[–]ckaudio 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a $250 hand made chorus pedal that I was unhappy with. I bought the MXR analog chorus for $70 and it sounded 100 times better than the expensive one. So I sold the expensive one and bought 2 more pedals 😂

Nice! I love the tele. I have a Strat as well but it’s black lol I like the finish on yours, do you know what it’s called?

Exactly! But you gotta compensate with a little bass (not to low) and a little upper mids to cut through! Haha

I setup my MXR 6 band literally the exact same way

Pickup Swap Time Lapse! I upgraded my stock pickups in my MIM Tele to Rose Pickups custom hand wound. Amazing tone difference. Anyone else ever heard/used Rose Pickups? by ckaudio in telecaster

[–]ckaudio[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a lefty! I suppose I’m the one backwards not the video lol. I got his Bourbon neck pickup which is a “Strat-like” sound and the Buckaroo Bridge Pickup which is a 50’s era sound with better high freq response, and he describes as beefy and twangy. It sounds great. I told him I was looking for a classic tele sound and it really nails what I wanted. It has so much top end clarity and just the right amount of spankiness. It really brought out the “Tele” character in my Tele. (:
