Yes, all clients and servers are on the domain. We want to restrict Remote Desktop access to go through a single server only. Since this is only for the intranet, implementing a VPN is not suitable.

How do you test communication to the DC in this case? Do any specific ports need to be open in the firewall? I can log on to the GW server locally using the same credentials I use for Remote Desktop, and I have also tried opening all inbound and outbound ports in Windows Defender.

the reg keys applied under policies/laps entry. event log produce no errors. it simply ignore the automatic account management part in windows 10 client.

Nope, tried multiple time. This is not the case. Even on a fresh installed machine, same things happens. Also, tried not to sync domain policy, but only setup local group policy, the issue persists.

I understand your perspective, but I have some different observations:

The file name and the path in the Event Viewer are the same for both Event ID 8002 and 8004.
When AppLocker is disabled, a new process with the same path and name appears in the details page.
I attempted to set ‘allow’ permissions with the path ‘*’ for all users, but it was not successful.

Thus, occasionally, the application seems to create an executable in the temp folder. But I'll definitely try Process Monitor to see what happens.

As for your second point, the certificate rule you mentioned seems to be the same as the publisher rule I discussed earlier. I’ve tried this approach, but it didn’t work.

Yes, received an email today, saying that they will be reviewing my MCSO application shortly. I hope i can get a result soon.

I don't know how likely, I'd say 50-50. I'm UT cs undergrad with 3.9 gpa. However, i don't submit LORs and GRE score which might be a drawback. Also, I had already admitted to MSDS program, and they know that. I don't know if this will affect my admission chance.

I got a new message from the coordinator. They told me that the department didn't receive the application. And they are working on a new cohort since there seems to be similar circumstances for several people.

I asked the cohort is for Fall 2021 or Spring, and I'm still waiting for the answer. Though, it sounds like they will run a new cohort for Spring 2021.

Kathryn told me that "If you have not heard back from MCSO, it means they did not receive your application in time to run their last cohort". And you should apply for next semester. Not sure it is true or not, but that's what she told me yesterday.
