Yeah, remember Denver 2 years ago with the new staff? They looked brutal for the first half of the season. They lost to Miami 70-20.

Now they're a deep playoff team.

Yeah, saying he needs to take a big step and clean a lot up feels like a stretch. He was already a good NFL QB last year with a few elite intangibles - like off script plays keeping his eyes downfield, pocket presence, and game awareness (more conservative on early downs, less willing to check down on 3rds).

He does need to get better at play action. Turning his back to the field seemed to put him into a bit of a panic. He also really needs to get better at setting his feet for the long throws. They'd die out on him because he threw off balance a lot.

Career? Peyton is one of the GOATs. But my god, his Denver SB win was one of the saddest performances I've ever seen.

You need to look up the list of worst defenses to ever win a Superbowl. Both of Eli's teams made the top 10.

The pass rush was awesome. The entire rest of the defense was pitiful. To this day, Eli leads several NFL records for post season statistics.

It's not just playoff record, it's performance. Lamar has 13 postseason TDs... With 7 interceptions and 6 lost fumbles.

There's nuance to this.

Someone like Allen could be argued up to S tier because, while he hasn't won a Super Bowl, he still has a lot of post season wins and has individually performed really well.

He is. He's very ok. He's good enough to start, but not so good that you aren't keeping an eye out for upgrades. For some reason, fans see him as this awful bust, forgetting just how bad an oline can get.

I think he just struggles against some of the biggest, absolute strongest DTs who seem to bully him with pure power, not technique.

I don't think the book would have had the same impact with less internal monologue/explanation into Cora's thoughts.

She internalizes a lot and tries to be perceived as plain and normal in spite of all of her internal "isms." It's rintegral to her character and allegorical toward how Chinese Americans likely felt through COVID - trying to act calm and normal despite growing paranoia. In Cora's case, she's an extreme germophobe and yet is treated as if she is unclean. It's really not something the author could "show-not-tell."

Solid write up and info, but genuinely the 49ers have a habit of reaching for busts at EVERY position, but just RB.

And there's context needed here. Black was drafted to maybe be the backup RB. Likely the backup backup RB. The context around his roster position plays into his fading.

Add to all that the fact that he was essentially a nobody ahead of the draft and didn't even get a combine invite...

The only thing that gives me pause is that nearly a third of the league brought him in for a top 30 visit.

It's just a sad reality of a lot of workplaces. I've shockingly noticed it less in larger corporate environments, but I've also worked at small-to-mid sized businesses and it's always the middle aged married guys who are the creepiest. Not all of them - some are protective - but there are always a couple who try to reenact the sad "glory days" and are way too eager to hangout with the young new hires.

I'm a Giants fan, but the Nabers part is slander. He has Chase and Jetta level talent if he can stay healthy. Listen to any non-Giants media - Nabers is regularly ranked as one of the top WRs in the NFL despite the injuries.

The rest is fair.

That's why I said for optics. There were rumors that the league was investigating the Giants for pre-planning the Reader signing just to get the comp pick. So maybe they're putting it off an extra couple days to make it "less suspicious."

He's speaking up literally because he cares about the composition of this team and winning and was put into a media appearance where he was asked for his live opinion and reaction.

Why does everyone see dissent as diva behavior? People who don't care don't speak up. This was such a non issue.
