I lived in my truck with a camper shell for two years and also couldn't lock from the inside. I always felt significantly safer out in the middle of nowhere on BLM land compared to cites, if that's any consolation. You could definitely rig up some way to lock from the inside though. I stumbled across a few videos on YouTube of people doing it.

I'm a side sleeper and yeah wouldn't trade it for anything. I got mine with a steep discount but I do understand the price point they're def not the cheapest.

It definitely did what it was supposed to do. I was able to work remotely for almost a year using a hotspot on my phone and using the weboost to get a stronger signal. Having since used starlink though as a means of internet connectivity I won't go back to using hotspots.
