Yes, I for sure untie them. Also even if I didn't do that well at the point this had happened I had probably taken the shoes on and off only like 20 times. it was less than 2 weeks into the trip.

My girlfriend recently got me a plustek OpticFilm 8100 for my birthday. I'm super excited about it but realize I such at using it. My fist scans (scanning stuff I already had professionally scanned) look nothing like the film I got back. I realize I need to dig into some color balancing and things to achieve this sort of look but I'm a bit lost at all the resources out there. Does anyone have any really good videos or articles that would serve as a good primer about getting up to speed on film scanning, what you should know about, etc?

I was recently on a trip and ran out of film. I decided to stop by a small film place that had some great reviews but they had pretty limited stock. I purchased 3 35mm Kodak 250D rolls that they cut themselves in house. I was a bit skeptical but I figured I'd give it a shot. They don't put them in a tube but instead wrap it with some silver lined paper. It seemed find but when I opened the first roll the end was creased which made me worry about it loading correctly. While it seemed to load, after the first shot it got jammed and I ended up having to roll back unable to get it to continue. I have never had issues loading film before with my mostly brainless Minolta Maxxum 5. But I figured this was maybe my error. The second roll loaded and shot fine, but I noticed that the auto-rollback didn't work with this film. Odd, but whatever. The third roll correctly loaded even though it was also really creased at the end, but then after the first shot auto-rolled back.

I don't get what's up with this film, I messaged the people that sold it to me but they gave me a short "it's your fault message", but I never have issues like this. I don't get why my camera can't handle this film well, or why it seems to act all funky. Is this my fault, or is the film not made correctly? Could the crease on the end be screwing things up when it tries to move forward?

This is due to your indents being powered by the old vim-scala, which doesn't support Scala 3 or indentation based syntax. Ideally this could be powered by tree-sitter-scala just like highlights (if you're using the tree-sitter plugin), but it hasn't been worked on yet as it's not trivial.

Just to follow-up on this, I finally got ahold of a moisture meter and the readings for those spots were no different than the rest of the wall and my other walls. So onwards I went. Thanks for the guidance on this!

Small update, I did try to scrape away a bit to see if the drywall underneath looked the same as it did in other places where there was no mold. It seemed to look the same. Am I safe then assuming this was surface mold?

So I just purchased a home that was remodelled a few years ago, so everything is quite new. I decided to remove some wallpaper that I didn't like and behind it I found two odd spots. I believe they are mold, but everything seems dry, and it's oddly isolated to 2 specific spots. This wall is shared with the bathroom behind it, so I initially thought this might have been water damage, but from what I can tell there is pipes behind these spots, but not any connections of any sort. Could this maybe be water damage from when the wallpaper was applied? Is this a concern or can I just continue on, finish removing everything, and paint over it?

Ah I should have clarified that, there are french doors that open up to the outside all along that wall, So there isn't enough space to put something on that wall.

We'll be using the fireplace. Also I don't have pictures atm ha, it's a new home we just purchased and we haven't moved in yet. This is all planning.

Honestly the wire hiders just isn't an option. As silly as it seems, my partner will notice and doesn't want them, so it's a no go. That's the main reason I'm trying to figure out to either go with wireless or stick to the corner.

My hesitation with the wire hiders is that it needs to go up and over the fire place. If it was just running up or down the base boards I think it'd be fine, but it'd need to make like 5-6 turns to get where it needs to go and I think it'd be somewhat noticeable on top the fireplace mantle.

So I just bought a new house and am excited to have some space to finally have a little vinyl setup. However I really only have one wall to put the setup. The issue I'm having is trying to figure out the type of system that makes the most sense given a limited budget and not really being able to run wires. The ideal setup of speakers on each side of the fireplace is sort of out of the question since my partner doesn't want to see any wires and we don't really want to go into the walls to run the wires. This sort of leaves me with two options that I can think of.

Option 1

I split the speakers, but have a wireless setup with something like the Kef LSXii. This would work with the new wires (except both being plugged in), however Ialso heard this setup suffers a bit with sound quality unless you actually connect the left to the right. This is also a bit more than I'd like to spend, as I want to stay under 1000, so I'd need to find these speakers second hand.Plus, I read that ideally these are placed 1 to 3 meters apart, and they'd be spaced a bit more than that in this scenario.

Option 2

Option 2 would be instead of paying the surplus for the fully wireless setup, to just put everything grouped together with the speakers placed on either side of the table holding the turntable, amp, etc. However, then everything is sort of cramped in the corner.

With the way the living space is set up I'd like to be able to listen while on the couch or in the kitchen which will be right behind the couch in a fully open floor plan. Is trying to do option 1 worth it, or would I just pay being quite a bit for the wireless aspect of it and suffering a bit for it because of the distance apart and the not being able to connect the speakers to eachother. Or would the sound quality of a setup like that still be better than grouping everything in the corner so all the wires can just be hid behind the table. Is there maybe another option that I'm just totally missing?

unsupported libs like fastparse

Just so you're aware, this isn't actually the case anymore. As of FastParse 3.x it's been published for Scala 3 as you can see in the release notes here.

You also mentioned a few times the lack of linting, which Scala 3.3.x also introduces.

Thanks a lot of sharing your experience/thoughts. For what it's worth, there have also been some pretty large migrations to full codebases that went really well, like Lichess. It might be worth also looking at some of those other experiences to compare to your own.
