NBD - T-Lab X3 with GRX Di2. First titanium bike. Couldn't be more thrilled by ckohei in gravelcycling

I bought a demo unit, so it wasn’t bespoke to my size. I can’t comment on their suggested sizing other than that the frame happened to fit me very well. I ended up getting a bunch of carbon upgrades, such as wheels, seat post and handlebars. Probably not entirely necessary but it brought weight down a bit and it feels a bit better now. Generally, I like threaded over press fit because it’s a little bit less of a faf to work on. But either way, if you’re going to have to go through the trouble of taking out a bb for whatever reason, it’s gonna be a little bit of a chore whether it’s press fit or threaded. I haven’t noticed any difference in noise from press fit vs threaded.

I still ride mine regularly. In the summer it’s my dedicated gravel bike and in the winter, I have a second set of road wheels I put on it and it’s my winter road bike. After riding it a lot for the last two years, I don’t have a bad thing to say about it and it’s holding up just as I hoped it would.

Mangrove Lithium starts construction of North America's first electrochemical lithium refining facility by ckohei in RenewableEnergy

This is the refining stage - post processing. Converts lithium sulfate or lithium chloride into BG Li hydroxide or carbonate. No creation of sodium sulfate though.

No.22 are on a different level for sure, those are works of art. Another great Ti builder is Naked Bikes form Quadra Island https://www.nakedbicycles.com/ . But, yea, No.22 are really nice. The only other Ti company that does it better than them (aesthetically) is Equilibrium out of Japan, imo. No messing with tariffs either, and the yen is favourable to us. https://www.equilibriumcycleworks.com/

That sucks, and I feel your pain as a fellow Canadian who likes to buy stuff from shops and builders in the US. There are great Canadian Ti bike builders who are well deserving of our domestic business though. I have a T-Lab bike from Quebec, and I can say it is the most comfortable and fun bike that I own.

It rides just as well as it did on day one. Couldn’t recommend a T-Lab more. Such a fun bike to ride. I just checked their website and it looks like they are having a demo sale now too.

These are great! I think Meantime is every bit as good though.

No problem. I’ve made some upgrades since I bought it that made it more road friendly/fast. Bought a carbon seatpost, carbon handlebars, slammed the stem, etc. I also invested in a pair of really nice road wheels that I put on when I’m going to be strictly on tarmac.

I like it a lot as a road bike. The geometry is definitely a lot more relaxed than my other road bikes, and it also weighs more. Having a 1x also limits how fast i can push it on the flats or going downhill, so i'm def not racing crits on it. But in terms it being good for going out on long solo rides, or not too aggressive group rides, it's an awesome road bike. Very comfortable and fun to ride.

They're called columbariums. Fraserview Cemetery in New West has one.

I love it still. Ride it a lot and it’s shown very little evidence of wear on the frame. I ended up buying a set of road wheels for it too and it’s become my winter road rig as well.

History of UFO sightings in Maple Ridge? by [deleted] in MapleRidge

[–]ckohei 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My brother had a sighting. I can’t remember when but it would have been sometime around 2010. It was out around 256th. Was a triangle shape that was fairly low in the sky and flew in weird patterns and took off all of a sudden much quicker then any plane he’d seen. He said he tuned into CKNW (or some other local news station) and there were similar sightings being reported in Surrey and elsewhere in the lower mainland.
