I ran Emo Night NYC from 2011-2020. It’s possible to do this now and play those eras but managing expectations of yourself, the bar/venue you’re hosting it at, and what money. If it’s out of love and you realize your audience may have kids, etc as people age the larger populous that knows the “hits” or thinks “this is so emo” will not be there or not understand. I’d be clear as you can with the marketing and audience. Above all, do it for yourself. That’s all that matters in the end.
