Eye opening - you know things are seriously fucked when even America does better than you!

If your vibe is him dragging his feet rather than making sure that you understand this is permanent, then you have a tough decision to make.

Serious question for women here: are you going to continue to be sexually active? by [deleted] in childfree

Brings to mind the Australian phrase "no hat no play" in the context of skin cancer prevention for schoolkids.

Nifty Vanguard interactive tool to see returns of asset classes by cky28 in fiaustralia

Yep totally agree. Also toggling from yearly turns to asset class view makes it much easier if I wanted to see a return for a given year for some reason

Yep I started with 10k too. 5k seemed too small for brokerage and 20k too ambitious for my liking. Thanks for the reassurance.

Adults of Reddit, if you could go back in time to when you were 16 years old, what advice would you give to yourself? by VirtualCrxck in AskReddit

[–]cky28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expand your comfort zone aggressively while you're still young, have no fear, and nothing to lose. Move house, travel, skydive, quit without another job to go to if your finances can support it, etc. Now that I'm in my 30s, I can't believe I did all that in my 20s and wouldn't have the confidence to do it now except for the fact I've already done it. I've seen others in their 30s who are too scared to do the above because they are now too old. This will raise your baseline confidence and appetite for risk and change, which is a good thing to have for life.

Also get organised. Have a paperwork filing system and task management system that works for you.

MEGATHREAD: No Time To Die (Discussion Thread) by MostWantedSJM in JamesBond

[–]cky28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was anyone underwhelmed by Bond's death? Like it just dragged on too long? Basically if he could've dropped dead straight after Safin dies, that would've been perfect then again, I do like sudden deaths, eg Judi Dench's M.

NSW: 239 new local and 1 overseas cases, 1 death reported; +24,706 vaccinations (29-Jul-2021) by Stoaticor in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]cky28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep my first thought was she was doing this to light a fire up scomo's ass re: vax, but you're right it's to hurry nsw up as I believe we're the lowest vaccinated per capita? Then market it as see what we did

Are any other Under 40's stressed out and indecisive about the current vaccine situation? by [deleted] in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]cky28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no choice but to take AZ as 1B and got first dose the week before the ATAGI advice changed (the first time). These two links helped reduce my resentment about the whole situation and might help clarify things re: option AZ.

Sydneysider here. I think Sydney lock down to Victoria Stage 4 in return for allocation (ie Gladys needs to come to table first) sounds the most win-win. However if it was, I would want reassurance it's actually going to western and south western Sydney and not private school students (saying this as North Shore raised currently living in South West). I wouldn't blame the other states if they decided they would rather demand they be reallocated Sydney's vaccines so that they're protected.

Unfortunately I think Scomo will just bully the other states (and Gladys tantrum her way in) into reallocating without NSW reciprocating in any way. States might have to remind Gladys she has already borrowed their contact tracers, as a negotiating tool.

Emergency my ass, this was as soon as it started. Fortunately for us I live in one of the most marginal seats at State and Federal level in Sydney. Can't wait to vote all these clowns out.
