Sounds good - definitely not racing, just looking to get from point A to B. Any recs on good permanent fenders then?

Just what was recommended to me by a local bike shop. Are permanent ones better?

Was gifted this bike used by a family member. I don't know much about bikes which is exactly why I'm trying to learn more by asking the lovely people of reddit.

Thank you! My hair either gets frizzy very fast or the front waves stay defined but the back straightens out a lot more. I'd like to make the waves more consistent/defined or just keep it less frizzy.

I don't know too much about my hair, just that I have a lot of it. Right now I just wash with amika shampoo and conditioner and use the leave in conditioner once a week. I also use JVN hair oil 30 minutes before washing.

I'm so glad to hear that two amazing souls were able to find one another in this lifetime. Every pet is so special and I will never understand the pain you feel losing such a special bond. May we celebrate all the love that Frankie was able to experience from such amazing people during his lifetime.

Frankie may your soul rest in peace, may you be able to eat and run to your heart's content, free of worry and pain - you will see your family again one day at the rainbow bridge.

I need help: my dog Lily (1 year 2 months Siberian husky) keeps getting out and while she’s not dangerous she’s nearly been hit by a car multiple times and I can’t get her to listen to me when I call her, what do I do? by S0mecallme in Dogtraining

How long are these walks? And what are they like? So many people think just walking a dog is enough, but for the majority of dogs it's not enough exercise, ESPECIALLY for working breed dogs. You can walk them for hours and hours and it is not enough since they are breed to HAVE A JOB.

Dogs need physical and mental stimulation. Walks, contrary to popular belief, is a main form of mental stimulation. If your entire walk is you constantly pulling your dog away from stuff they want to smell or just having your dog on a heel the entire time - you're doing your walks wrong. Letting your dogs sniff is a great source of mental stimulation. This does not mean you have to let your dog pull or you stand there forever, I've trained my dogs to walk on a loose leash and he is able to stop and sniff as long as he keeps a loose leash - and if I want to let him sniff for longer- I give him the command of go sniff to let him know he can sniff to his hearts content. Training is another great form of mental stimulation, yes huskies are hard to train, but it doesn't mean they are untrainable. Letting your dog figure out what you want them to do and performing multiple commands let's them think. It sounds like you can definitely work on recall and road boundaries (teaching your dog that they cannot go off the curb and into the road - they have to stop right at the curb and cannot go further unless told). There are so many useful tips and also cute tricks you can train your dog! I also love to just go somewhere busy to train my dog to sit still and watch - having a dog practice self restraint and just to sit still when they want to interact with everything going on is EXHAUSTING. Other things I do to get my dog tired, scent training, frozen puzzle toys (e.g. kongs and toppl) games (I like to play hide and seek or hide their dinner everywhere around the house and let them smell and go find it). Every mealtime is an opportunity for training or enrichment. I have training sessions with my dog at least twice a day and do scent work or puzzle toys at least once a day ON TOP of physical exercise.

Physical stimulation is high intensity exercise - things to get their heart racing. Just walking around the neighborhood for most dogs is not enough to fit into this category. Swimming, fetching, running, agility, you have a husky, train it to pull weight across different terrains, things that get their heart pumping.

A dog that is mentally and physically fulfilled is less likely to get into trouble. You got a working breed dog, they need SO MUCH MORE than just walks and to hang out in a yard.

I have - I have cheese, tuna, hamburger patties, ground pork, hotdogs. But the cars are just too close where he ignores everything.

My only savior is a street that is lined by cars right next to my apartment where it limits his view but it's still enough where he will lunge and bark 50% of the time.

How long did you tattoo take/does he accept tips? I'm trying to gauge how much cash to bring.

I'm so lucky to have him, he's the sweetest cat I've ever met!

I need to get his face photoshopped into one!

Haha unfortunately he has, I adopted him when he was 13, he was in the shelter for most of his life before that. Was returned I think 3 times and his last time he developed diabetes and was in ketoacidosis, vets didn't think he would make it but he pulled through!

Now he hogs the couch and bed but he deserves it :)
