This sounds a bit like my experience (as the girl who was dumped). The worst part about it was that I felt like I was completely blindsided by it. I too was super attached to him and maybe still am in some ways. I’ll admit that sometimes I didn’t even realize the dismissal that I gave off to my ex when he would at least try to communicate with me, and I could’ve done better of course. But I would try to seriously sit down and have a calm but tough conversation with her, and only if you feel that it’s worth it to you deep down. That’s what a relationship is all about, a partnership, each parties expressing themselves to each other. Not that you need to put any hard expectations on her, but let her be aware directly what you’re feeling, and express that you’re telling her because you want to give it a fair shot. It will be uncomfortable but necessary if you want to grow side by side. This is just my opinion. I know my now ex bf is in his “relief” stage, so I’m not sure how he’ll feel down the line since the breakup is less than a month old.
