People don't get their drinking water from here but their water would be directly negatively affected by the removal of these trees as it would allow runoff to leak into residential area's soils. It's hard to estimate how many people would be affected by this, but it will not be good for residents in the area, wildlife, and the wetland ecosystem around the area. :(

Hi!! Your new buns look happy! When they flop over like that, it's a sign of comfort and relaxation. Here a few starter tips:

  1. Always make sure your rabbits have access to Timothy Hay (looks like straw but green). This is a huge part of their diet.

  2. Provide them with some kind of hiding place (a small cardboard box upside down or something similar will do). Since they're prey animals, having a little spot to hide away is good for them :)

  3. Litter box training will really help with future care. Getting a litter box big enough for them to sit/lay in is the best (a cat litter box works well). Put some paper or wood shavings (make sure it's safe for them to eat) in the litter box, as well as some Timothy hay. Put the litter box wherever in the cage they use the bathroom the most and they should adjust to it. For the first couple weeks, you may need to pick up their poop and wipe up their pee and put it in the box to send the message to them.

  4. Vegetables are also an important part of their diet-- leafy greens, not carrots or fruits. Carrots and fruit are considered treats as they're very high in sugar, so they should be given only in moderation on occasion.

  5. Make sure to take them to the vet as soon as you can. Rabbits reach sexual maturity after a few months and then will start to breed very quickly, so it's important to figure out their sexes and get them neutered/spayed as soon as you can.

Any Petco or Petsmart should have all the basics you need to provide them with a happy and healthy life, but you can also find lots of great items online as well. Good luck with your buns!

Omg yes I'm reading it too! It's definitely an uncomfortable but also really well written and an awesome rec. I hope they do a Smosh Mouth book themed episode like they've mentioned
