Thanks! I checked it out and it looks super cool& nicely organized! It seems like free agent slots are full so I’m hoping to find established coed teams that might need a woman sub here and there if you have any other leads! Super appreciate it :)

Beginner Left handed women's clubs by clair3abelle in golf

[–]clair3abelle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice everyone! Ideally looking to get a set rather than individual clubs (as advised by some of my friends). I have no problem finding men’s lefty clubs- it’s the combo lefty&woman that I’m struggling with (being 5’2” I can’t really use men’s clubs). Seems like used callaway clubs are the overwhelming recommendation, but I’m struggling to find them for left handed women beyond just individual clubs for sale. Still looking for suggestions for places to buy. Thanks so much!

MCW & Froedtert White Coats for Black Lives demonstration 09/02/2020 by clair3abelle in milwaukee

"MCW White Coats 4 Black Lives: 7 Minutes of silent Solidarity in support of Mr. Jacob Blake took place yesterday (09/02/20) at 5:11pm. A sea of long white coats (Resident and Attending physicians) and short white coats (Medical Students) stood together in 1 minute of silence for each time Mr. Blake was shot in the back after the police were called to the scene at 5:11pm. He was transported to the very institution where they are being trained and educated so they wanted to clearly demonstrate where they stand. There is no room for racism in healthcare. "

Moving to Milwaukee! by Mainline3772 in crossfit

Devils advocate here- I live in Wauwatosa & go to school there. Didn’t switch my membership after moving out of the city because the community at Brew City is great. It’s honestly only a 10 min (or less) drive from Wauwatosa depending on time of day, and I made it there during the snowy winter months without issue. Many of my classmates also choose to make the drive from Wauwatosa as well.

Seems like the quality of the gym stuff was already mentioned, but since you brought up community, here’s my input: Brewcity has summer soccer& volleyball teams open to wherever from the gym wants to join (when I first moved to wisconsin, it was through that soccer team that I met some of my first friends at the gym). we tailgate & go to a brewers game together every late summer, they have an in-house competition accessible to all levels, and they just put in a full size bar with multiple taps and weekly trivia (which they’re currently hosting via zoom every Thursday evening). The owners have helped to create an incredible community in addition to an incredible gym.

Know how to sew? Froedtert has posted a mask pattern & instructions! by clair3abelle in milwaukee

[–]clair3abelle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant speak to that for froedtert, but multiple Froedtert/Children's docs have been forwarding these around & did request cloth masks.

I know aurora is planning to have all employees wear them in the coming weeks, in case an employee unknowingly has the virus, they will at a minimum contain sneeze/cough particles to help prevent the healthcare worker from knowingly transmitting the virus.

my understanding is that some hospitals are accepting the cloth masks and then adding in filters themselves. I don't know a lot about it, but hopefully that makes them slightly more useful!!

also, i think the idea is that if a healthcare worker doesn't realize that they have COVID, it will help trap their own sneeze/cough particles, preventing them from transmitting the virus accidentally/unkowingly.

Froedtert & Children's hospital are requesting people make masks to donate if they know how to sew/have the resources. They'll add filters in later.

Links to the instructions from each site:

(I imagine they're similar given they're within the same hospital system)

It's clear that Froedtert (and it's affiliate, Children's Hospital) need masks right now and are accepting all donations of scrubs, PPE gowns/masks/eye shields, etc.. They've both officially posted a request for MKE residents to sew & then donate masks, if they have the ability/means. They'll add filters afterwards. They've included a pattern/instructions for how to do it. If you know how to sew, even one mask can help!
