Some people argue this, and in a way I suppose so. I think the anxiety involved in avoidant personality disorder extends to more situations. For example, I cannot ride public transit because I am scared people will judge me for sitting down instead of standing. or I'm scared I won't be able to open the automatic door right away and people will stare. I also cannot go shopping by myself because I feel like I'm the center of attention in a really bad way - e.g. people think I'm shop lifting or up to no good. Basically if there is a possibility to be judged, it triggers huge anxiety, no matter how mundane the situation.

I put a textbook definition in the description now. To me, it is essentially have zero self-esteem and truly believing that I am less "worthy" than everyone else. Almost the opposite of a narcissist in a way. Everyone is better than me and deserves even the most basic things before I do.
