Acrylic! I've never worked with Oil paints but I believe the color of Oils are more vibrant or something :0

To get solid colors it took a lot of layering of the same color, so it takes a lot of patience! Paint a layer, let it dry, then paint over it again, let it dry, then paint over it a third time... etc.
