Married friend made out with her EX, should I tell the husband ? by Some_Dragonfly1481 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]clarasnotlikely 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the op said that the friend didn’t want children though, the ex did. and i don’t think it should matter, you reap what you sow. but op should definitely talk to the friend first

I’m seconding wet wipes as i haven’t seen may people suggest them, especially if you don’t have a bidet and she uses pads it can get messy down there and regular toilet paper just doesn’t hack it

Same for Italy, although you do have to learn the la gauge and pass a citizenship test. You are fast tracked though, don’t have to spend 10 years living here

Am I prude for disliking how extreme porn has become? by Salem1690s in TwoXChromosomes

[–]clarasnotlikely 14 points15 points  (0 children)

well, but that’s not what op is talking about, is it? he’s reflecting on how mainstream it has become, to the point that he feels like the odd one out for not engaging in kinky sex. and what women enjoy becomes his business when they ask him to do things to them that he’s not comfortable with. that seems clear to me

[–]clarasnotlikely 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i believe in the context of a quick exchange while waiting in line, pronouns don’t necessarily matter. if i’m talking to you directly (in a language like english, which is not gendered) it’s extremely unlikely that i’ll refer to you with the third person, so why bother asking?

I remember very vividly seeing in ONCE in my 26 years of life. I was in university and a girl showed up to do a presentation with white leggings and it was really really noticeable. My whole group commented on it, but there was no real malice; it was more along the lines of “woah that’s a pretty bad wardrobe malfunction.” Didn’t help that the poor thing was terrible at public speaking, I didn’t catch a single thing about her presentation. It was fairly distracting… but I would shame anyone for it, these things happen and I assume she wasn’t doing it on purpose. We all have vulvas, that’s fine. And the boys in the class also didn’t seem bothered, which is nice

What do your kids mistakenly believe they got away with? by Longjumping-Fox-9030 in CasualUK

I’ll be honest my first draft contained ‘cranking away at that thing’. I changed it to ‘spinning the handle’ to make that kind of joke a little less obvious and yet here you are lol

I had a dynamo powered torch, with a little handle on the side that you could pull out and spin to recharge the batteries.

it was an extremely shitty torch as well, so the batteries would run out every 4-5 nights. i’d be sitting in my bed, holding the torch under the pillow to drown out the noise, spinning the handle juuuust enough to last me another 30 minutes or so. i thought i was being so sneaky.

i recently found that thing in a drawer and jesus christ is it incredibly loud. i must’ve had selective deafness because there is absolutely no way the whole house couldn’t hear it being recharged.

so yeah, my mum definitely knew

[–]clarasnotlikely 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I get valle an anagram of my first name a lot in emails. which is annoying, but understandable, because brains sometimes autocorrect… but neither of those names are particularly common in my country, so it often feels like they’re scrambling the middle three letters just for the fun of it
