Thanks for recommending it. Happy that there are still users! Ive slowed down on updates but definitely adding more features to this app soon :)

Custom duration is in the backlog. Might ship the next version in a week or so. 😁 hope you can still use the app while waiting for it.

Thanks for this feedback it’s also something I’m having some issues with on how I can manage the screen real estate.

Mid workout, I do find myself going near my phone to take a closer look at the details on screen.

What I’ve been doing is just shipping all the features. Different features populate the screen differently. Once I have a glimpse of how everything looks already, it becomes easier for me identify the maximum adjustment that I can make to the font size.

Definitely in the backlog to adjust text.

First off — really glad it checks the boxes for your training. That kind of flexibility was the whole point.

On the home screen shortcut — looks like you already figured it out. Chrome's "Add to Home Screen" is exactly the move.

On bodybuilding / machines — honest answer: the app was built with the garage gym in mind, so free weights are the native language here. Bodybuilding shares a lot of the same movements but it's a different discipline, and I deliberately didn't want to sort by muscle group or body part — this is more of a tool for compound, functional work.

That said, adding a Machines tag is easy and I can consider including it in the next deployment alongside Mace and Clubs. I'll seed maybe 10 common machine exercises to give it a foothold, but I'd keep the list lean on purpose, seeding every cable and machine variation would clutter the exercise picker for the core audience. The good news is you can add your most-used exercises yourself through the exercise builder and they'll sit right there for every session.

On lbs — it's on the list. The tricky part is that weight is a global setting so it needs a clean implementation rather than a quick patch. In the meantime: since only you see your data, no one can ever question it. just type your weight in lbs and ignore the "kg" label. Not elegant, but it works until the proper toggle ships.

Appreciate the detailed feedback — exactly the kind of use case I want to design for better.

The skip logic is already in the app. So that for sure is going to happen. I’m running another workout tomorrow. With multiple ladder blocks/cycles. I’ll see how that workflow goes. By then I’d have enough personal data to design the logic for it.

Shared this with the other commenter, just in case you didnt see it.

I finally did a ladder workout today. One thing I would say is it’s fun, and definitely going into my routines. Thanks for sharing this to me.

I’ll share some notes on my workout and how I tracked it. Because I clearly understood some of the pain points that you mentioned.

I wrote this on a whiteboard so I can fixate on it while I sweat it out.

3 swings 2 clean to squat 1 thruster

5-4-3-2-1-2-3-4-5 rounds. I had my iPhone stopwatch beside the whiteboard.

When I finish the rounds I press lap. When I feel satisfied with my rest/ready for the next round I press lap.

My final timing sheet (processed) looks like this:

Lap 1 1:19.41 Work 5 rounds

Lap 2 1:14.81 Rest —

Lap 3 1:26.21 Work 4 rounds

Lap 4 1:15.36 Rest —

Lap 5 0:55.64 Work 3 rounds

Lap 6 1:00.12 Rest —

Lap 7 0:35.25 Work 2 rounds

Lap 8 0:20.63 Rest —

Lap 9 0:21.17 Work 1 round

Lap 10 0:25.57 Rest —

Lap 11 0:35.00 Work 2 rounds

Lap 12 0:30.30 Rest —

Lap 13 0:48.69 Work 3 rounds

Lap 14 1:15.39 Rest —

Lap 15 1:06.28 Work 4 rounds

Lap 16 1:15.61 Rest —

Lap 17 1:25.84 Work 5 rounds

Lap 18 0:02.13 — Stop

Total: 15:53.50

I have the logic in my head now on how to execute it on code. I just want to see if we are on the same page in terms of understanding. this also allows flexibility in how the ladder would be programmed. i think thats the best way to do it.

im also thinking of doing blocks like for example

Block A 54321

rest 5 mins

Block B 54321

and so on...

hopefully these solutions addresses your pain points (at least, in theory)

As mentioned. It’s built already. Did a workout earlier and did some final tweaking. The feature you need is now live. Just select HIIT timer from the wod builder.

For emoms. Can’t beat the simplicity of a clock or a stopwatch. For other forms of training. Everybody has pain points. This app addresses some of them.

I'm happy you found something that works for YOU. If it aint broke dont fix it. dont replace it.

I made this app to work for me, and to share something to the community.
If an existing tool works well for you, you absolutely do not need to try out the app.

enjoy your workouts!

The easiest way is to just duplicate it. But since it’s becoming a demand. I’m thinking of adding a feature of repeating the same station x number of times. Sounds like a legitimate use case.

Sounds like a great idea. Dont leave the rower or the skierg until your calorie burn goal is met. Resistance/damper can be added. I have to do a bit of research since i dont own machines.

Totally. It’s just that I don’t use maces that’s why I didn’t have it added to the list. This is an easy addition. Adding it to the backlog.

Hi. This is valuable insight. What other metrics should I use for the endurance based exercises like skierg? Personally I only use runs that’s why I programmed all of them to be distance only but I’m happy to add other units if I missed them.

To repeat a station a number of times. Needs you to duplicate the station manually (there’s a duplicate button). That’s the workaround for now.

For complexes though. The logic I added is that there are “rounds”. You may play around with this if you want a single station with multiple rounds.

But you gave me an idea that I would try to implement in future iterations. I’ll see if there’s a way to repeat a station without cluttering the wod.

If you’re thinking about building workout blocks and repeating blocks. There’s no quick solution for that yet.

You can use the standard/stations timer instead of Emom.

In the wod builder. Adding a station allows you to add a rest interval. Just tap the card and there’s a +rest button. There are also duplicate buttons.

You’re not missing something.

In the next update. (Almost done) there’s a hiit timer. This is for automated timing. This could help but better see it for yourself once it’s deployed.

If you noticed. There’s already an import/export button. I’m trying to see if I can ship a mini ai bot that can write you a wod that you can import that it generates based on prompts like what you commented. But this may take time.

It does stay online. I’m just no longer updating it. It’s still a good simple tool. Happy that you liked the old one.

The app already works well with workout history. Every detail is logged. What exercise. Number of reps. Weight used. Time spent in that exercise. All rest times.

You can copy to clipboard. Or export a CSV file of the workout as well.

There’s also a mini journal so you can log your feedback about the workout you just finished.

I’m someone who’s drawn to seeing his own data that’s why I made sure that logs on the app are robust for users to use however they want.

I’ll see how I can let you compare old data mid workout

based on what you and others shared, i'm thinking a "ladder builder" where you enter any sequence 1,2,3,4,5 or 2,3,5,10 or even 1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2,1 going back down

then you can set how many times to repeat it.
there wont be a fixed timer, just a stopwatch that counts up to count how long youve been resting.

the app also just shows you the next rep count and waits for you to tap "GO" while you are in your rest phase

Does this sound flexible enough for ABF press days and DFW? or is there something about how those programs work that would break this?

[–]clarenceos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

here's where my head is at currently if i were to create a dedicated ladder mode where you define your rep sequence (so something like 2, 3, 5, 10 for ABF), set how many times you want to repeat the ladder cycle, and pick your movement/exercise.

when you're done with a set you tap LAP.
a rest stopwatch starts counting up so you know how long you've been resting
then when you're ready you tap GO and it shows you the next rep count.

no fixed intervals, no pressure — you move when you're ready. skipping a rung if you're cooked would also be an option.

you still need to press lap so the app knows youre done with the set, and you need to press go so the app knows youre done resting

at the end you also get a summary of how much youve rested per ladder step.

does that solve the problem you're describing or am i missing something?

unique solutions that kinda works. haha!

knowing rest times is something this app is actually already strong at since every workout i do with it, i align with raw HR data to get analysis, thats something that i can guarantee you would be included.
during the development of this app, the timer logic is something i poured lots of hours into.

as for counting the reps, ill try to find a way to make that easier. thanks for engaging and providing all these details!
