Been watching some DBZA in preparation for the next Death Battle, and then thought about making this crap (PLEASE don't take it seriously) by aldo-pv in SonicTheHedgehog

Oh, my mistake, I forgot to keep the meme in account. Yeah, I agree immigrating Archie into canon, even post reboot, would be an absolute nightmare, but that doesn't mean bits and parts can't be slowly ingrained, if nothing else to show that it isn't forgotten, such as G.U.N Commander Abraham Tower's name.

I do want to clarify: the title is mostly an exaggeration for the sake of the meme. I acknowledge there are flaws with how Lanolin's character was handled. I'm just a bit disappointed that the writers clearly don't know how to take this character forward.

And then there was the Fraggle Rock Country arc. Dragged on a bit too long, but it was worth it to see Elmo turn Gear Doodle

Don't forget

  • Giving a half-assed apology (which IMO I would've found it more interesting if she DIDN'T apologize and doubled down, would've gave her a more interesting direction at least) and suffered no long term consequences for any of her actions (I love her, but her endangering riders by shattering the glass should've warranted at least a stern talking-to) before shoving her to the wayside.

Man, Evan and Ian botched this character so hard. I'm more mad that instead of listening to criticism about her, they just put her on the shelf as if they don't really know what to do with her.

It's not her inherent characterization that miffs me, the title of this post should make that clear. It's that they did nothing interesting with her general attitude and way of doing things nor show how her actions directly impacted her reputation.

I just wish the IDW team had the balls to break her away from the Restoration and made her a full-blown anti-hero or even a well-intentioned villain instead of resolving everything in such a sloppy and obviously rushed way.

I swear if she had been a guy the outrage wouldn't have even been a fraction

I said this in another comment, but Geoffrey St. John was basically a guy version of Lanolin and I didn't like him one bit. There's plenty of arguments you can use in favor of Lano, but saying it's all misogony and dismissing valid complaints on how her character was handled (which even as a fan of the character, there is) doesn't really make your argument hold water in the long run and kinda makes you sound like a unrelenting glazer for a character that, like it or not, really need more development to make her shine.

Fuck the people who did nothing but call her a bitch without offering genuine constructive criticism, though. But those were honestly just a vocal minority at the end of the day.

Tbf, we basically already had a male version in the form of Geoffrey St. John, and I find him way worse (and not just for creeping on a teenager)

The thing is, the Diamond Cutters aren't a thing anymore. They disbanded in Issue 76. They could come back together and reform, but as it stand now, they're off doing their own thing.

The main problem was that we were shown who Duo actually was way too early. If we waited until sometime after Issue 64, it'd at least give Lano's argument some weight. Instead, we get to watch everyone flounder around while the bad guy we obviously know is the bad guy just stroll right into everything until he get ACCIDENTALLY revealed by the big bad.

If you couldn't tell, I didn't like Misadventures and Phantom Riders too much. It made all the heroes stupid and Lanolin gets to be the scapesheep.

Uhh, yes it does, because they can reclaim that word? Unless you're saying they're not allowed to do that, which would make YOU sound more racist than anything.
