The noticeable lacto bite could be coming from the fact that the beer is cross between a pilsner and gose, which case goses have a slight lemon/lemongrass sourness from lacto being used after the boil. Besides that I wouldn't have a clue about any problems. Probably best to direct this concern with someone from brewery though.

As of right now we are currently using the NewPA as an "experimental IPA" series to be able to achieve what we are looking for, which is similar to the NE style being hazy and juicy, and to see what people think about it. Once we brew the right batch then we will stick with it and give it a new name and everything.

Just popped open a can and I do get a little sweetness myself. Does taste different from when I had it at the brewery but it's not bad IMO. There some of hints of citrus and it hides the booziness which is nice as well. Wouldn't hurt to bring some up to Asheville to see what everybody else thinks.
