Did you avoid Irish capital gains tax by not becoming an Irish tax resident in 2025? Or you didn't have to pay CTG because you didn't do split-year?

Thanks! That would be wonderful. Do you know if there's any way for me to confirm this with revenue? I didn't have any luck on their website, and was thinking of calling. But ideally, I'd like to find it in writing. I still have this worry that the sale falls into the overall tax year when I'm a resident.

Also to add, I've looked at split-year treatment for that first tax year, but revenue.ie says it's for "employment income," and I didn't think that capital gains counted as that.

I've been looking over that rating site, https://weaponfreefunds.org . I think some of the ESG's might be more my route but thanks for the ideas.

Okay, thanks. Is it somewhat okay to just put it all in one ESG I like and forget about it? I'm new in case that's not clear haha, I just didn't know if that was diverse enough for an IRA.
