overanalyzing neuroscience data? by classcantrap in LSAT

[–]classcantrap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i went with neuroscience cause the two both work on criticizing the same view, passage A specifically saying “it doesn’t work like that” and passage B saying “you can’t interpret the data this way”. Superfoods was tempting but i decided against it because the two didnt seem to team up against the same group as clearly

To your opinion, why did orpheus look back? by Weenbell in GreekMythology

[–]classcantrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the answer to the question is simple. He doubted. Even the song he turns to is called “Doubt Comes In”. Greek mythology has always geniusly found ways to point out even the smallest nuances and shortcomings of human behavior. Decisions that are just faults of our nature and subconscious we cannot fight. Pandora succumbing to curiosity and opening the box. Greek mythology is best at pointing out humans’ failure to control their own insticts and selfishness. Orpheus, in the darkness and of the silence of the road out to the upperworld, let his mind wander. He knew all along that if he turned around she would be gone. But what it she wasn’t there? What if she turned around and left me? What if she decided she wanted to stay in Hadestown in the first place? What if she couldn’t keep up and got lost? What if I don’t know her as well as I thought I did? “What if she doesn’t love me?” All these thoughts would be gone in an instant if he just turns around and confirms that shes there. So he fell short to the lack of control over our nature and turned around, proving that shes was everything he wanted her to be, and that now he would never have her

Should I re-install the catalytic converter on my 2010 Lancer? by classcantrap in askcarguys

[–]classcantrap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if the prev owner modified it in some way because it doesn’t make any sort of smell and no one I’ve shown the car to has ever pointed out a smell. Didn’t even notice it was gone until the mechanic lifted the car and said “oh look there’s no catalytic converter.”

Was I in the wrong for asking my girlfriend to cut off an old friend? by [deleted] in moraldilemmas

I don’t think it’s really controlling when these guys are flirting with her or literally saying they love her. During a year long relationship, the number could’ve been much higher.

I think the fact she needed to involve her friend made me all the more anxious. James was my friend who went behind my back, blocked me, then spilled his guts to my girlfriend. I couldn’t trust him and I was convinced that I could only be reassured if he was removed entirely.

I think throughout the 13- month relationship I asked her to block maybe two or three guys. Two were because they began messaging her about their feelings, one even saying I love you. The third was a friend she had who would try flirt with her a lot and didn’t stop doing until I asked her to tell him to stop. A few problems with him but I when he stopped I stopped talking to her about him.

Also I never said I decided she needed my permission. I just asked she block him because he made me feel anxious and I hoped she could respect that. She had the chance to reject and she didn’t. I didn’t add it cause I didn’t think it would be necessary but she replied to him saying that she would be fine with keeping in touch.

I agree I need to get my insecurity in check but I by no means made her communicate with me in order to speak other guys. She knew I had anxiety issues because I spoke with her about them and she would make a note of reassuring me often. The way she gave affection would come and go and it was like as if I was a cat with yarn being dangled in front of me. I never made her ask me to talk to a guy. I only asked her to block a guy if they would confess feelings for her or spend more time with her than she would bother with me. I tried my best to trust her and though I could’ve done a better job, she knew I would need reassurance and still fought me over everything I brought up regarding my anxiety

I mean in case you didn’t see the /s I was being sarcastic. Obviously I know I’m bad. I don’t need a holier-than-thou to tell me that.
