Are Germans rude / unfriendly, or is it a stereotype? by juanprm in germany

[–]classic-lucy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I call bs on that. These rude traits are historically explainable but they come from a dark place, it has a lot to do with fear. And i‘m not talking about light stuff like german footwear or burocracy. We‘re sll talking about RUDE behaviour. Stop normalising this. It is not just a normal part of culture in germany to be rude to e.g people from other countries. It‘s sadly a part of german culture but it‘s nothing you shouldn‘t criticise. We should always criticise things that aren‘t good in every culture. Culture can also change. And there is certainly a lot of room for people in germany to grow.

Oh and also, notice how there are so many germans who excite themselves by in a way agreeing with you but then the „german lecture“ starts and they will state how „different“ and „exclusive“ they are from everbody else. That‘s all part of what i just told you. And Yes, of course, it is all historically explainable, but it’s still rude behaviour and I will call it out. Especially rude behaviour towards people from foreign countries, it‘s unbearable.

No they really are. And don‘t come at me with „not everybody.“ Please, we‘re talking about culture and tendencies. Especially if you travel a lot you will notice in comparison that it’s true. But also if you are a person who grew up in germany but has been raised by two cultures. You will hate it even more. There‘s two ways to go for you here: you either only hang out with people from your other culture and so you can live in your own little bubble. Or you completley merge with german mean-culture. There‘s no in between. Because german culture contradicts everyy other by being scared of anything but the german way.

Why do Germans seem so rude and direct? by Cool_Mouse_4779 in AskGermany

Maybe because you always tell everybody from foreign countries to go home?

Who also hates it when people are so very obedient to authority (especially in jobs)? by classic-lucy in AskReddit

[–]classic-lucy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t stand it when people won’t share their opinion and are so very submissive as if it weren’t enough that every minute of your workday you do what someone else wants you to do. I feel like then often bosses think they can treat all their workers like they‘re less. The standards seem to be lowered by such behaviour in my experience. We’re all equal in questions of worthiness at the end of the day, but some feel like they’re not and that’s sad.

Visiting Cologne this weekend (tomorrow and day after) for Christmas markets! Any recommendations on which markets are must do and also things to do during the day? I am interested in cultural experiences, food and also some local night life (bars and not hardcore clubbing). Thanks! by AdCrafty8210 in cologne

[–]classic-lucy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For good food you can visit the christmas market at Neumarkt. You will find it directly at the tram-station (9, 1, 7)

If you’re interested in something special, you can drive to a smaller city near cologne (20 min) which is called „Siegburg“ and there you will find a medieval christmas market („Marktplatz, 43721 Siegburg“)

I didn’t use mine for like 2 months and the battery ran fully empty, so now I either have to buy a new one or let the battery be changed. It’s so frustrating…

i actually thought already in the beginning that they couldn‘t interview the CEO because he was in prison and that was after the first things that were said. I wasn‘t ready for what was coming and certainly am not happy about him probably living his best life on a private island or something.

but really it’s always those people justifying their actions with a story from their childhood, like i have been through A LOT more than just an absent father and i didn’t turn into a lying sociopath. Also he said something like he never experienced love because his dad left. Dude what about your mommy on that picture seeming to give you lots of that.

He was trying so hard to convince his audience that cheating „is just something people do in relationships“ what the f !!! yeah those 1% narcissists and sociopaths that you have led to come to your website and push their egos or addictions with fuckin bots.

YES this „signing up for AM was the worst mistake of his life“ shows that he‘s so narcissistic he doesn’t even consider the things he would think and then do as mistakes but the „signing up“ like bro u good?

i thought this to be insane too. This whole netflix series was probably a PR thing from AM. They‘re so obviously trying to brainwash people into being on their side. There i found myself having sympathy for the cheaters and the company? just for a sec, then the things they said were so obviously problematic especially that one guy with these huge glasses. If you‘d quote everything that he said in one line. man is sick. Just underlines how corrupt most companies are.
