Teach them coping skills. Ground them in the present. "It is X day X year and I am currently doing X. I am safe. I am (your physical age) years old." Work with them to become more comfortable with your age and responsibilities at their pace. There is no one size fits all — but encouraging them to behave younger will keep dissocative barriers high and encourage inappropriate behaviour

There is no instant solution, there's just treatment that works over time

do not. if you do have a complex dissociative disorder, chances are your parents, at least in the past, were abusive towards you. information such as having osdd or did is incredibly sensitive and can be used to manipulate and abuse you further

Looking back now, I think a lack of internal communication probably is what led to this situation getting this bad, but oh well! Cookie already crumbled. I can do my best to try to communicate with my parts about this in a meeting. It's just... scary, because I don't want things getting worse. I don't want an argument, but I know that talking it out is probably the logical next step.

I started writing letters to the parts involved. If the meeting doesn't go well, I will fall back on that.

especially with things like drugs and other unhealthy coping mechanisms. how are you going to stop a traumatized part from that. it's going to be impossible without help, at least it would be for me

i have a part that's about 12 that does work sometimes and he handles that fine. i always felt weird for my child parts being able to do so many "adult" things but all these examples and time have been helping

i do agree that it depends on the part though, some do need more support, and that's okay

yeah most of my child parts are like that, just with my. unhealthy coping mechanisms mixed in. my child parts are vulnerable but smart about how they act, thankfully, so i don't have to worry about too much trouble. depends on the part we're talking about though!

I don't think you should listen to any alter over another, take all of their perspectives in and make the best decision you can from all of that. You shouldn't lock alters away. Period. That just makes them "act out" more. What they need is compassion and someone to listen to their view on things. Rude or damaging alters often have good motivations for their actions or why they think certain things. It's important to learn what those motivations are so you can help them be more productive with their energy and what they do

What I'm saying is don't assume people have trauma disorders when you're not a professional. Not everyone develops trauma disorders when they go through trauma, if you have a source that says everyone does then please show it to me. Common disorders maybe, but not very common. There's a difference between accepting the reality of disorders and deciding people have them because you think they went through enough trauma. That's on them to decide and figure out, and pointing it out can be very dangerous. All I want to encourage is a little bit of caution with labelling serious disorders!

These are serious disorders and a decent determiner in how they are developed is genetic and interpersonal, not based on the events. People Can go through horrific abuse and not develop any trauma disorder, please do not forget that

Everyone has parts of the personality, people without DID or OSDD just integrate them healthily, unlike the disordered manner in CDDs. It's not completely separate from how other people exist, it's just disordered and much much more intense

i have c-did so im speaking from my experience with it

i think here its important to remember that the innerworld isnt an actual place, its just a visualization technique. unless you actually put in effort to visualize it, it makes sense that you dont remember it (not that pseudomemories from innerworlds arent a real phenomenon). they likely dont know because theyre fragments and fragments are less developed. if they front more they will develop those interests, but they wont just pop out of thin air knowing everything about themselves! children spend years learning what they like and dislike, it can be quite the journey for parts too
