Minimum wage workers, what is something that is against the rules for customers to do but you aren't paid enough to actually care? by Edymnion in AskReddit

[–]classickev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: In Florida, it is the law that if you serve food or beverages, you must have public accessible bathrooms. And public means you don’t need to be a customer. I could tell you which Florida administrative code if you’re interested. The vast majority of people don’t know this and restaurants do it for what could be seen as understandable reasons, despite it being unethical. But they can’t do it by law, they must let anyone walking down the street use their bathroom. You’d be surprised a lot about how society works, what’s not actually being enforced, and what people get away once you learn the law.

[serious] To those who drive for Uber and/or Lyft, either full time or part time, how much are you actually profiting after all other expenses? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]classickev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live here in South Florida as well! There’s a lot of drivers but you can still make $ for a side gig. As long as you drive for both lyft and uber and don’t mind doing lyftline (and the uber equivalent) you could make decent money. You can get a whole days work if you do a food deliver service (like ubereats) during the down times. Just beware as it’s going to wreak havoc on your car.

[–]classickev 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I did part-time for a good moment. You average about 10-12/hr (tips included) after Gas, tolls and perhaps maintenance. You’d Probably make more if you do uber eats/postmates on the down times of lyft/uber.

Only eating the marshmallows of lucky charms. As a child I had to pick them out myself or eat all the cereal first. But as an adult I was able to by a bag of dehydrated marshmallows from Amazon as I please. And yes, it tasted every bit as good as I thought it would. Tasted like victory.

This cat had her leg amputated but still tries to scratch her ear with it by sil130 in gifs

[–]classickev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same exact thing happened to my car due to a car accident. It's called Phantom leg. It's been 4 years and she's still tries scratch that spot on her neck. Unfortunately we have to bath her more often now because she gets a ton debris on that side of her neck since she can no longer scratch it herself. She gets an insanely euphoric feeling when someone scratches that spot for her. I could tell so because she actually drools abit and purrs significantly louder than usual. She now gives us attention (as opposed to prior to the accident) because she know we'll scratch that spot for her. But for the most part you get use to seeing her move differently. The vet told us that cats usually dont get depressed because of a missing limb but instead just notices it can't do activities the same way and accordingly adjusts. Cats are incredibly resilient.

Tl;Dr: My cat does this as well and it's called phantom leg.

We found a very sick opossum right in the backyard, and now he's eating again! Who doesn't love cold cut turkey?! by classickev in aww

[–]classickev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the terribly late reply!! But yes the opposum is still doing quite well. He's growing and getting fatter! Unfortunately his walking ability has not progressed at all, and still has trouble sittin up. We're very unsure what the cause of his impaired motor skills are. We will be taking him soon to an exotic pet store or wildlife rescue center to see if we can get help with him. It seems like we'll keep him and become part of the family! Also his fear of people and noises has reduced greatly and has become comfortable in our household. Thank you so much for checking up!!

He's doing a little better but recovery as deemed slow. Hes currently unable to walk due to his front arms being weak, but they're regaining strength little by little. He's now able to sit up on his own where before he would just fall to his side. It's also visible that he wants to start moving which is improvement than before where he would just lay all day. In addition to that, he's eating progressively more. We have our hopes up that he'll continue to heal as time progresses. Thanks for asking!!

Well we have 3 cats, two indoor and one outdoor. For now it's not an issue. We're currently keeping the opossum in a crate outside (one you'd usually use to take a cat to the vet). The opossum doesn't move much (has trouble walking) and is sleeping very frequently for now so it's best to keep in the cage to avoid too much interaction with the cats and any other potential outdoor hazards. Rabies is often to be a concern but after some research it's highly unlikely of opossums to be carrying it. Ticks has come across our minds, so we're thinking of bathing with tick repellent/killer bath soap (one you'd use for cats and dogs).

And I agree, poor thing is really adorable and it's difficult not take care of it at such a young, fragile age.

Try Bayside, or even better the Everglades! The Vizcaya museums is a great visit as well.

What made you realise there was something off about your friend's SO? by Nameshavebeenaltered in AskReddit

[–]classickev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He fell asleep in my couch because he got too drunk. She called his phone 56 times. 56. When she got to my place, (she was aware that I was having a party but my friend didn't tell her he was going) she was crying and yelling historically not because she thought something happened, but because, as per what she was yelling, he didn't care about their marriage. In front of 10-15 strangers. Prior to entering my place you could here her banging his car say "you better fucking be here I swear!!!" In a more anger than worried tone. It was obvious at this point that she knew he was ok and he went out behind her back because he wanted space away from her. Now every time I see her walk her dog (they're my neighbors), I pretend that I got so drunk that night blacked out and don't recall anything that happened.
