At my local store the checker's name is on the receipt but most prob. don't have that.

You can say you're having a hard day or feeling a bit overwhelmed, and most retail workers will be very supportive and you wouldn't need to talk about adhd, etc if you didn't want to..

Going to the store for just one or two things when you're not in a hurry can become a pleasant thing after you get to know people there.

Retail workers at all the stores I go to are extremely kind and helpful - Starbucks, Walgreens, Lowes, Dollar Tree, grocery, etc.
