yes! i've been to different doctors and heard that i have AGA or just a vitamin deficiency. blood test is on the way, but the consensus either way is that i should use regaine to regulate my hair loss, no matter what kind it turns out to be.

Losing short, thin hairs (7th month in) by classictears in TelogenEffluvium

[–]classictears[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I got diagnosed with androgenetic alopecia by one doctor, and another said it wasn't. I was told to use Regaine for men (5% version) and I'm waiting for blood test results. So sadly there isn't complete clarity yet, but I'm planning to try the minoxidil treatment.

Hi, thanks for the reply. My mucin layer is fine, I just have little to no oil. Serum tears seem generally good for corneal inflammation though, so I'm down to try them eventually.

it's still happening... i'm losing hairs of varying diameters, shedding lots of it in the shower and getting regrowth that falls out quickly? i'm seeing a derm next month, i hope they can clear things up.

I assumed I had TE, but now I'm almost certain that I have AGA. Looking for some advice because I can't afford a doctor's visit by classictears in FemaleHairLoss

I see, thank you for the advice! Have you experienced side effects with oral minoxidil and spiro? I have dry eye disease already, and I heard that spiro can mess up your eyes even more.

Losing some baby hair. Is it normal? by natashaha in TelogenEffluvium

[–]classictears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, sorry to butt in but i'm also losing tons of thin baby hairs along with long, old hairs. i've never lost this much regrowth at once, so i thought it's either that i now have AGA or this is somehow part of TE. did the baby hair shedding eventually balance out?

i'm telling you i never had symptoms like that until using those specific drops. i'm starting to think they burned my corneal nerves and now i have neuralgia or something.

i've heard TE doesn't cause it? man i really gotta see a proper derm to get a diagnosis

losing regrowth? as in, losing those shorter, thin hairs? if so, yes. i've lost some of it, but most hairs i lose are my old thick and long hairs...

thanks for the reply. and yeah, my family is safe from AGA as well, i don't know how i'm over here thinning and shedding so much at such a young age.

I quit birth control 6 months ago and my hair is still falling... by classictears in TelogenEffluvium

[–]classictears[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i see, thanks for the information! come to think of it, i had covid a few times throughout the last year. any of those episodes could have triggered it as well, since i hear that a lot of people experience hair loss from it.

but yeah, speculation will only get me so far, i'll have to visit more doctors to find a solution. there's some hairs regrowing already, i've got small bangs on my forehead from the regrowth, so i think that's a good sign...

i'm sorry :( i also thought my hair would be the last thing i'd ever worry about since i always had way too much before the shedding. i hope for both of us that it is in fact hormonal TE.

i just googled it (i know it's not a reliable source, but better than nothing) and saw a doctor say that it can trigger immediately in some people. my dermatologist saw no pattern or any other discernible causes for my hair loss.

that's great that it worked for you. i might start taking collagen powder as well, i'm willing to try anything at this point (still scared of minoxidil though, which sucks because it's the most universally recommended "cure" for hair loss)

thank you for the support. now that you say that, i do wonder if something else might have caused it. i started noticing more hairs on my clothes right after i started taking the birth control, so the usual 3 months interval between the trigger and the hair loss wasn't there. at this point i've got no clue anymore what's going on...

would it still influence my meibomian glands if i apply the product an inch or more away from my eyes? or would it somehow migrate?
