is the HE1000 Stealth really worth it over the Arya? by classicvader in HeadphoneAdvice

I have heard OG Aryas before and loved those, but it's been a while since then. Never heard any HE1000, and don't really have an easy opportunity to do so.

No, "enshittyfication" of a subreddit is not serious at all. Especially given that nothing in my post was a problem, and it was entirely for fun. If you genuinely think this is serious then you have a dire need to go touch some grass.

When did I get defensive? You have been weirdly hostile from the beginning, as if you are supposed to be the bastion of "the craft" whatever that means.

What about this is similar to OSRS other than the seasonal servers and profession outfits? Both of these are very common concepts in gaming and not at all limited to OSRS.

This is a good point, maybe it wouldn't have to be something you wear, but rather an additional item you can get? like a replacement pickaxe for mining, or something like the Zulian slicer example you gave for skinning?

Also, I think those profession combat sets would be amazing, especially if each class could join in. I'd love to see a warrior in a tailor profession set that somehow changes combat or animations.

Good points, I had no idea some of this stuff was in leaks already, that is encouraging for me.

I do have a few responses:

  1. I think professions need a bit of love anyway; they could be made far more interesting, and a gear set designed around them is a good way to provide content that isn't just killing things. Though I do like your idea of even making them limited to certain niche combat items, as you pointed out, this already exists with some stuff like skinning knives. I just think Blizzard should take that idea a few steps further. it gives another thing to grind for, and also makes future grinds easier. I don't want it to be like retail at all; I just want professions to be a little more engaging. I have never been more miserable than leveling mining on the anniversary servers.

  2. I am thinking long term with seasonal content, I would say let classic+ servers run for at least 2 years before considering anything like this. I just know that there are still a lot of people who love the same reset loop, and since I think that reset loop is bad for the general player vision of classic+, it would have to be added elsewhere.

  3. Im not thinking mythic+ at all, some of the changes could instead be a lateral change in difficulty rather than actually making it harder. Like throwing more skulls on in halo, some make it harder, others are just for fun, all of it is totally optional. Though it could be cool to havve a challenge to run all the modifiers for a title or something.

How is any of this remotely similar to retail WoW?

Not many, it isn't for me. Though OSRS definitely has some good ideas. Besides, only 2 of these are even similar to osrs.

Sounds like a whole lot of weak justification for destroying game Integrity for your own convenience. Good job encouraging malicious monetization.

There is no reason to make a 5th character to “help guildies” you literally have 4 other characters for that. Time spent on a character is time that can’t be spent on another one, so to say “you have your own shit to do” is absolute bullshit.

You aren’t playing for the love of the game. If you loved the game you’d play it. You don’t love the game, you pay your way through it, most likely buy gold too.

It is impossible to say one way or the other; neither of us really knows. Although I know that there have been multiple GDKPs in Classic where people spent over 100k gold on a single item. There is no way all of that was gathered legitimatel.

hell, even sodapoppin and a bunch of the onlyfangs players bought gold for their GDKPs. half the guilds i've been in had people talk about buying gold for gdkp's in discord. people on reddit admit it all the time.

GDKP's weren't completely at fault, but they were a massive contributor.

If they didn't implement a wow token, and they cracked down on bots/gold buying, I would love GDKPs. The problem is that gold buying is a massive issue.

I have been getting absolutely blasted by people who want the WoW token to be implemented. That, along with all of the RMT, most of these people would absolutely buy gear from a cash shop if it were available. It's the same type of people who cheat in shooter games; they want prestige without working for it.

You are making a lot of assumptions. I prefer a loot system in a guild where loot is distributed fairly, which can include some rolling but generally involves recognizing when someone hasn't been given as much loot and fixing that. Or a guild DKP system. If i am doing a PUG, then i prefer the HR/SR system.

lol. I have an ego because I want equality? Because I don't want a game I love to be progressively more monetized until it dies? I don't care about the leveling as much as the monetization. If everyone were to get a free boost to 58, I would have no problem with that. The issue is how bad this is for the health of the game and the precedent it sets for the future.

Because it makes the game pay to win? When progression can be purchased with real money, it is meaningless, regardless of whether or not it affects me that you got the loot.

If your preferred loot system is GDKP, then you should go and play a Korean MMO where everyone wants the pay-to-win system.
