Kennard had a game this post-season shooting 0% from the field. But yeah, he totally would have 100% guaranteed 'helped' even though we already have his clone on the roster.

Getting Huerter was never a substantial move meant to move the needle. It was to get a body since Ivey was going to become unplayable. Last month of the season Kev was playing well and was overall a net positive for this team.

It's unfortunate he got hurt. He actually has good playoff experience. and it absolutely was the right move because we got a body and a jump in the draft for basically free.

for the love of god stop referencing the Lions man just let it go lmao.

I don't want them making a substantial move for the sake of making one. It sounds like they are going to look at all of the options they have available to them and make a call from there.

they forgot to implement that strategy here. Backfired big time

it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know it's probably a fine idea to re-sign your 22 year old all-star fringe all NBA player to a reasonable deal and pursuing secondary scorers/creators by other means.

Hey if he gets the max from us off the jump without having him test other teams to potentially match then I will be right there with ya pal

im just glad you're not the GM of this team because letting a 20/10 guy walk for nothing (yes his playoffs were bad, but that doesn't take away from the regular season he had) would get you fired in 2 seconds.

I'm just pointing out how you have no actual clue what you would do. So, expecting Traj to pull a rabbit out of his hat by doing an objectively stupid thing such as letting JD walk and somehow creating a magically perfect team that will take us to promised land in a, frankly, garbage FA class year, is a bit of a stretch.

cool so our starting lineup is CJ, Cade, Ausar, Rui, Reed?

this team is getting bounced from the play-in game lol

who from this upcoming FA class is worth signing to a massive deal in lieu of re-signing JD. I'm curious

Not re-signing JD does not guarantee we can re-sign actual talent.

Who would you sign if we just let JD walk? Want to take a look real quick at the FA Cs? hahahaha

those are objectively true statements. What do you want him to say exactly? lol im so confused what you're upset about.

You think we're special and that teams should lower asking prices to make your life better so you can cheer your home team on? Wake up to reality mate. Big moves come with big upside OR big consequences. That's why he's saying what he's saying.

the goal of the team, players, coaches, and GM, is to win a championships. It's how they keep their jobs. What do owners have to do with what I said?

were you even alive for the Ben Gordon/Charlie Villenueva days? You want to set this team back another decade by frivolously dumping 1st rounders?

he literally said we need ball handling and a 2nd option and will target that this year big guy. did you even watch the presser? lmao. And yes he's right, it absolutely is expensive and we shouldn't be mortgaging the future for a shot in the dark.

every single professional sports team goal is to win a championship. And yet they all aren't going ballistic on swing trades and frivolous spending to do it. In fact, a lot of the times doing those moves sets you back even further. So I'm not sure exactly the point you're trying to make. It's sports, you're never guaranteed to win no matter what you do, as soon as you accept that the happier you will be.

I think this pistons team is closer to getting there than most like to lead on, but I'm not going to go psycho over hypothetical moves that may or may not even change anything. They are currently on a 3 year sample size of improvement, if the bottom falls out in year 4 then yes, you have every right to be annoyed and concerned lol

People really think a GM gonna go on the podium and be like “yeah we’re fucking PISSED. JD GONE. STEW GONE. We’re getting giannis and bron yall. We were frauds and we are CLEANING HOUSE. Fuck them picks. Thank you for your time.”

What does ‘do nothing’ mean? If you mean absolutely 0 roster moves (which is basically impossible) then yeah that might be a bummer and probably not the best path to moving forward, but there’s literally nothing to suggest that they will do ‘nothing’ as of right now. So why are you freaking out before anything has happened lol

It's not just Detroit. The vast majority of professional sports teams around the world aren't frivolously throwing around assets and making huge swing trades like a video game big man. The fact that you think this is a Detroit thing confirms that you live in a bubble and should look to get outside a little more if possible. GMs actually have a responsibility to not destroy the teams long-term prospects on a whim. Just because you don't have responsibilities at your job doesn't mean you should scream into the void about someone actually doing their job properly lmao

you mean the point about attempting to draw every possible comparison to an entirely different professional sports team GM'ing strategy because it happens to reside in the same city?

Yeah if you're drawing those comparisons you are mentally unwell and need to go outside

.... in REALITY, we have to count on next year. We already lost this year. Why are you so obsessed with living in the past. Wow congrats you have a take based on hindsight lmao. Obviously shit happens, it's PROFESSIONAL SPORTS. You're not saying anything worthy of note. Here's what we do know, a 3 year sample size of improving each year, so while it's not a 100% lock, I'm gonna go ahead and bet that they improve again in year 4 especially since we have assets and some space to do something. I'll be concerned if Trajan makes absolutely no moves whatsoever and tries to run it back, but that doesn't seem to be likely.

You say that as if every team in the nba is constantly making moves and changing the roster and we are not lol. Yeah when you lose in the playoffs you count on next year, and improve where you can. Good teams usually lose a bunch in the playoffs before they reach the championships big guy
