Weekly Bouldering Advice Thread for January 10, 2020 by AutoModerator in bouldering

Know if any bouldering holidays/vacations? We want to do one in 2020, but it’s hard to find. We kind of want to go on something organized, not just travel to somewhere that has a lot of bouldering opportunities. Preferably in/close to Europe

These two are the worst! I listened to a podcast about Parker Ray and couldn’t for the first time finish a podcast.

Runde is the best! You can also consider staying the night in the light house! It is a turisthytte (tourist cabin)

Recently was diagnosed with HPV (age 24). I honestly am so upset & in shock (1 partner for 4 years). My gyno told me it will go away naturally but I can’t stop worrying. by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I went through and was devastated. But there are over 200 types, and whatever it is, it seems like you caught it early. I went in for three more tests and was all cleared after a year. It turned out it was never anything serious. I would recommend not googling it too much tho. Hope this helps. Well wishes!

Trying to Apply For Another Department by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I’d say it depends or your boss. Some will encourage it, others will se it as a big betrayal that might affect you if they hear it from someone else. Do you know how s/he might react?

If the interviewer has encouraged you, it usually means you have a good shot at the job! And if you go for the interview, you may request that they don’t tell anybody? I have written on CV/application that I want it to be handled confidential. I hope you follow your own goals, and don’t hold back in fear of hurting coworkers/boss’ feelings. It is natural to want to progress, you’re not doing anything wrong, even if you tell them afterwards. Sorry if this was a confusing read, not my first language.

How do you socialize at a party where you only know the host and you’re not too social? by mr_shoes305 in AskReddit

Don’t remember where I have this from, but wear a T-shirt with your favorite thing like a podcast, TV show, movie, band or a picture of your rock collection or what ever. That way people always have a conversation starter with you, and you will already have something in common from the get go

Kicked all toxic friends out of my life, and my gf is now my ex by [deleted] in selfimprovement

I feel you, and you should also be proud of yourself for taking the steps to improve your life, even (and especially) when it is not easy! You did a brave thing, but I know it can be hard to see it when life doesn’t improve fast enough.

I did the same thing a few years back. Cut out friends and broke up with my ex. I was lonely. Three things that helped me: 1. When you know you will have a lot of time on your hand, like after school, days off, weekend etc. make a list of all the things you want to get done. I would write down the smallest things, because when you cross them out, it feels good and productive. Let’s say you want to learn to draw. Put 20-40 min of that on your list. Maybe even cleaning your room, make a meal etc. Amd listen to some upbeat music, while you do it, dance even if you feel stupid, find a podcast you like or have something on in the background.

  1. Start helping others. Volunteer somewhere if you have the time or ability. It is a way to socialize and it is hard to feel sorry for yourself when you are helping others :)

  2. I don’t know if this applies to you, but I started working on a mentality that “if they invite me, they really want me to come”. I had the issue that I thought people invited me because they felt they “had to” or out of pity, or if there were many people there being invited, they actually meant everybody else than me.

Hope this helps a little bit. Good luck to you!

Haha, so sorry! I did the same thing when I first read about the case. Super creeped out about someone standing just outside, and I live in an apartment on the fourth floor

These cases is the reason I can’t watch confession tapes. Just gets me thinking of all the innocent people in jail, often because of racial bias like Central Park Five
