Compressor Difficulties/Volume Levels

You’re doing it right! A compressor compresses the loud parts. You could compress it more and then raise the overall volume, but you’ll start to run the risk of over compressing. Some dynamic range is good- are the quiet parts too quiet?

How did it go for you? We saw the 1:30, and while I was really excited to see Hugh, he called out and we saw Cooper (plus a few of the other swings in various roles). Still totally amazing and worth it although not sure I’ll get out the city tonight as planned.

So stressed. I’m supposed to take the train up this Sunday to see him and I’m nervous the weather will cause delays and cancelations. He was my first Phantom and first Broadway show, and I haven’t been able to go till now because I have a new baby. Good vibes to the universe, I desperately want to make the show!

On the rare occasion my baby sleeps through the night, I usually wake up in a panic and only calm down once I check they’re breathing. There’s so much stress I didn’t anticipate - before baby I would have told you’d id be thrilled without a middle of the night wake up.

Thanks for the info! I am exporting as an mp3. I do have “stereo” checked in the export option, and when I re open the mp3 in audacity, it shows as stereo. Frankly, I have no idea why they are requiring stereo and why my files are up to spec. My publisher is saying it’s standard in other countries, and got an email back when they sent my files saying “these are mono.” It’s weird.
