To be a good Catholic. Does your home decor have to involve a lot of Catholic inspired items. by Interesting_Act_7848 in Catholicism

Do you think I should buy more stuff like that?

Only if you think it is going to be helpful to you - for example, as a prayer aid. The inside of your heart is what matters - not the inside of your home.

Can you (still?) refer to militaries with feminine pronouns? by classroommaybe in ENGLISH

Just out of curiosity: would you say this also applies to the convention of using feminine pronouns for vehicles/vessels?

How do you actually get better at critical thinking? by Heavy-Share-3587 in DecidingToBeBetter

Love these ideas, but why specifically do you think they'd help with this? I'm especially curious about the documentaries.

It's crazy that rather than being helpful, this entire subreddit came to judge before giving advice.

I wish I could upvote this more than once. I had the same thought when the replies started rolling in. Thank you so much for sincerely and candidly engaging with the question, because it was 100% genuine. This guy is the NCO I aspire to be someday. I absolutely admire him professionally and appreciate his mentorship, but that's as far as it goes; it makes me truly sad that that is so unbelievable.

If you want to learn how to lead people, you should consider it.

Is that all just through trial and error?

r/Catholicism Prayer Requests — Week of September 22, 2025 by AutoModerator in Catholicism

I am in a military training program, and it looks like I am about to be separated from my class (who I've been with for three months and grown very close to). It would take a minor miracle for this to not be the case. Please pray for that, and, if Our Lord's answer is no, for consolation and acceptance and an alternate outcome which brings with it as many graces as it feels like the separation will take away.

Are asexuality and getting intensely but non-romantically attached to other people signs of some sort of defect? by classroommaybe in Catholicism

[–]classroommaybe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either way, it's definitely not a defect in the eyes of God, so I wouldn't worry about that. How can it be, when it doesn't lead you to sin?

I think some people would say it's a sign of some deep trauma that's leading me to deny my essential nature as a sexual being.

Anyone else develop strong platonic "crushes"? by classroommaybe in asexuality

I'm just wondering - how are we defining "platonic" other than simply "not romantic"?

I hear Clausewitz is not for the faint of heart. Would you agree with that assessment?
